My youngest sister is Mayor of a small town in northern NJ in which an application was made to build and indoor firing range. The range is not a good fit for the community for a number of reasons as well as the fact that the proposed owner of the facility has no experience in operating this type of facility. My sister is very pro 2A but her duty as mayor is to serve the community. Now an individual named Alexander Roubian with the New Jersey Second Amendment Society (NJ2AS) has taken upon himself to write lots nasty things about her and her husband.trying to intimidate her. She is now being threatened and requiring police escorts escorts to and from city hall. I guess it takes a real man to hide behind a blog throwing baseless and false accusations against a women who is trying to represent her community. People like this are what give legitimate gun owners a bad name. What a piece of shit.

I know nothing of the story...and I'm not taking sides.

However...since when is business experience required to open a business? And, if a shooting range is not a good fit for a community or if the owner not a good businessman then it will go out of business. Problem solved and the free market wins again!

Still, the gun community should politely disagree with the decision without getting into personal attacks.

Threatening anyone, much less a public official is probably not legal. If the LE agencies involved will not move forward to prevent their own mayor from being intimidated, how little will they do for average citizens?

If this was a bakery would it be a problem?
This is how we should gauge these questions.
Even the "good" guys have been lulled into the rhetoric.
    What is a "good fit"?
This is just language that creates the subtle doubt of safety, legality ect ect ect.
As mentioned, it will sink or swim on it's own merits.

Zia, i to left in 81, went back after my service but could not stand the change with NYers that moved over, they are rabid commie fks that hate the 2a. I suspect your sister has been assimilate by that particular borg. As far as threatening a public official, that state is ruled by a bunch of wanna be despots and the cops would love nothing more than to break out the swat grear and raid the future gun range owner to justify their militarization budget so I dont suspect the threats were too bad. If she s pro 2A she should divert some "sanitation" money toward helping the guy build his range and let it stand or fall on its own.

What drugs are you on? Let me guess, you're one of these "cops are scary and hate my guns" people? Please.... step out from under the table, it's ok to come out. Newsflash.....cops aren't gonna come take your guns in a gestapo raid to "justify" any budget. All cops I know and work with, because I am a cop in NJ, would like nothing more than more guns in the hands of good people but this state sucks when it comes to gun rights. So get it out of your paranoid head that we just want to do things to justify budgets. Put the kool aid down...

As far as the gun range, like an earlier post, I don't the know details of this story but will say this.... why fight new business? If it fails, it fails but no business starts with a guarantee it will stay open. I'm not sure of the exact area but I've meant gun enthusiasts from all walks of life so I don't know what would be considered a bad area for a shooting range. Either way, the guy should voice his opinion because he is the head of an organization but leave personal attacks out of it.

Hell I have been randomly stopped in that fkn state, you all have random road blocks for no goddam reason other than fishing for arrests, you guys are out of control so dont blow smoke up my ass jerkoff. Unfortunately its douchebags like you that made me leave the state of my birth.

Man, how do you sleep at night knowing the big bad NJ cop is lurking somewhere in the shadows?! Come on, seriously?! I agree with you 100% that this state sucks when it comes to gun laws, no doubt about it. But where do you get the notion that all cops are out to get you and your guns?? The reality is our gun laws are restrictive and unnecessary but I work to enforce the laws that are there. If someone from another state comes to NJ and doesn't review the laws of the state he is traveling to, then shame on him because that is what responsible gun owners do when traveling. One gentleman came to NJ from NC to help with Hurricane Sandy repairs but kept his handgun in his door pocket of his truck. When stopped, he was in violation of two things.... carrying a firearm without a permit (which unfortunately is almost impossible to obtain in this state) and a magazine over capacity. He was arrested but later pardoned by the governor. Is that the cops fault for doing their job or the gentlemens fault for not reviewing gun laws in the state he was traveling to and just assuming he could keep a loaded gun in the car? When it comes to firearms, assuming anything is a poor decision.

But hey, I'm the bad guy, that's fine. I've been called way worse than douchebag.

like I said your state sucks, the cops enforce unconstitutional laws. I do have my permit from that shithole. but it is no longer valid. You are a douchebag, not be cause you are a cop, its because of who you are not what you do, i call out the crazy ass stuff you guys actually do, in real life and factually are doing up there then you call me paranoid and a koolaid drinker, so yes that make you, Stag556, a douchebag. Where do you draw the line on enforcing unconstitutional laws?

Let's go through that post.... first, you DO NOT have your permit since it's not valid. Common sense. Secondly, you must know me more than a couple posts here to know "who I am". Third, you must have been a cop to know what we do "in real life" and "factually". Or do you just "hear things" (since you no longer live in NJ) and just assume they are true since we learned in my previous post that assuming is not a good practice.....

You can dislike me for what I do, that's fine but at least be informed. Yes NJ sucks and yes the gun laws are terrible and yes I'd love for them to change and yes, as a cop, I want more guns in the hands of good people but for people to say we do things to justify a budget is misinformed and false. Have a good one and good shooting to you. Signed.... the douchebag cop : )
