Thinking about a SRS A1...is there a stocking dealer in Nebraska or does anyone have one?

I am starting to shoot longer range and while I love my AIAT I am thinking about getting a SRS A1 so that I can get a 300NM setup for it as well. The problem is that I have never handled a bullpup rifle and don't know if I will like it or not.

Without dropping $5K on it (like I did with my AIAT) just to try it I would like to hunt one done first to handle.

Any thoughts? I am in central Nebraska by Grand Island.

Hey they closer dealer is probably Primal Rights in Huron SD.

should be about a 5 hour drive for you, pretty much straight up 281.

They have all kinds in stock.

And Greg is a good guy.

605-554-1911 is their number.

I get a lot of calls where guys try to trade me their MRAD for a Desert Tech. I haven't done it yet... and probably won't. I can understand how you would think both rifles are on the same level, not having used a DT... but I'd expect your opinion to change quite quickly after running a DT. Especially in 300NM.

We've done a bunch of 300NM DT builds for guys. Outstanding cartridge and definitely my favorite platform for the round.

You won't have to look far to find a lot of our happy customers. This isn't a risk proposition. If we send you the rifle and you don't like it and haven't shot it... send it back for a full refund, less shipping. I'd encourage you to give me a call and we can talk through the details on the phone. Chances are that your concerns will be addressed quickly once I have an opportunity to directly answer your questions.

Thanks for your comments and the offer to allow me to check it out without risking being stuck with it as long as I don't shoot it!

I am currently researching where I can shoot past 1000yds and am having trouble finding much in my area. Within 75 miles I have a public range that goes out to 600yds and then at about 85 miles I have a friend that is a farmer with a pasture that he can get out to 1200yds or so which is where I went last week and I was able to shoot out to 950yds for the first time.

The problem is that with it being a pasture we have to move range locations since there are cows out there. The fact that he is a farmer hurts too as his schedule changes constantly so it is very hard to plan a trip and have it actually happen. I am actually starting to think that I may just be stuck at 600yds with any kind of regularity so am kind of rethinking my rifle plans and considering just sticking with my trusty 308Win at this time.

Now if I could go shooting on golf courses I would be all set since all they are is a waste of a perfectly good range :p

You can alway buy a .223, 6.5creed, even another .308 barrel for the DT right now and then buy a magnum setup when you get access to longer range consistently.

Yeah that has occurred to me as well but I really love my AIAT so the only reason I would be looking at the SRS is for the magnum calibers so I figure unless I actually plan to use it for that then I should probably just stick with my AIAT for now.

I am still thinking though. I thought about trying to trade the AI at some point for a SRS if a good deal happened to come up.

I wouldn't. lol The Bullpup is too love/hate that I would recommend getting in a lot of range time before deciding if you prefer the AI or the DT. As stated above, I love the bullpup layout with my .300 win mag. Even then, I still plan on building a .308 Rem 700 to have a more conventional platform to shoot on.
