I needed a method for getting a solid mount on a scope to use for a video recording targets out to 500 yards. Every tripod I used got the shakes and produced very poor video.
I finally went back to my roots and came up with:

It's ROCK SOLID. Bessey 3/4" clamp, assorted 3/4" pipe parts from Home Depot, Camera ball head from Amazon. Total cost, less than 50 bucks.

Innovation is the mother of invention...nice going

How do you attach the ball head to the rest of it?

Sorry I did not see your question earlier.
I ground a flat spot on the end of a pipe cap, drilled a 3/8" hole through it, cut a flat hard plastic disc out of a stiff plastic box, ran a short 3/8" bolt through the pipe cap from underneath and screwed on the ball head.
