I bought an Accuracy International rifle from someone here on SH, and it was supposed to be the Small Firing Pin (SFP) version of the short action AXMC. After shooting it for a year or so I decided to try the Lapua 6.5 creedmoor brass which of course has the small rifle primers. I'm getting some interesting results as you can see in the pictures. I learned today from someone at milehighshooting that in this rifle the firing pin protrusion can be adjusted. It may be that it's protruding too much, or it may be that it's the large firing pin version. I measured the firing pin at 2mm diameter (about 0.080 inches). I'd love to hear some thoughts from people that have seen this before or who have experience with this rifle. My impression is that the primers don't show the flattening that I would expect with excessive pressures. This would lead me to believe that it has to do with either the firing pin protruding too much (very likely) or the size of the firing pin (the internet says "maybe").

I had that issue for a while. You’re over coming the metal on the primers cause of the large surface of the firing pin. I had Long Rifles bush my bolt and that alone alleviated 99% of my primer issues. The other 1% is me trying to hot rod stuff. Give Kalli a call at Long Rifles Inc ‭(605)490-2561‬ so you can clear up that headache. They have a super fast turn around, excellent customer service and they did a fantastic job on my bolt.

Tell them Massey’s Gun Shop in Brownsville sent you and they’ll take care of you as they have me.
Best $175 you’ll ever spend !!!

FYI that firing pin cost $70ish...keep popping primers is gonna cost you more.

This option sounds a lot better than the $784.31 option from eurooptic.com!

Your bolt is fine, thereÂ’s just to much Slop between the pin and hole. They fill the hole in, turn down the firing pin and make it look like art. ItÂ’s beautiful !!!

I had primers like yours, now they look text book perfect.

I can’t find a reason why I didn’t sooner except being lazy. I run large primer, small primer, magnum primer. I’ve shot 300wm, 338lapua, 6.5 & 6 creed no issues.

Stop wasting time and get it done. Probably a 2 week turnaround.
