In the ever evolving silencer game I feel a little out of the loop and silincer shop doesnt list the minumum barrel lengths for alot of cans.
I currently have a omega but am looking for a secondary can rated down to 13" for my scar 17 cqc. Would prefer lighter and quiter but still needs to be relatively short. My omega would be perfect but its not rated low enough. Any suggestions out there? I know a lot of the obvious ones and the new saker asr catches my eye but if im missing anything new to market would love the imput. Looking at a saker asr and maybe the aac sr 7

The Griffin Armament Recce 7, Dead Air sandman s and titanium direct thread, Surefire 300SPS, and Sig SRD762. I'm waiting on a Dead Air Sandman for a 12.5" 308. I would double check with Sig about 13" bbl, but the direct thread Sig SRD 762 will be the lightest by about 5 ounces when you subtract the weight of a muzzle device, making it almost as light as your omega, or about 5 ounces lighter if you use the Omega with the ASR system.
I really wanted to try the Sig, but none were available before the NFA rule changes.

edit... call silencershop or the manufacturers for barrel length restrictions that aren't posted on their site.

Right now im looking hard at the saker asr, but that being said this can will pretty much exclusivly be on a single rifle so gun jumping will be minimal.the sig cans look great but have 1st hand expierience with the DB"s the rugged razor looks great also. Anyone used a aac sr7?

Any reviews on the sig SRD 762? The can im going for must be 7" or shorter. Need an oal of 20" on the scar cqc,
am i missing any other cans? This can wil live on the scar, no intention of jumping rifles.

update: I have narrowed it down to
sig srd 762QD
sand man s

any ideas of the best performance on a scar 17 cqc?

Then why not use a reflex can? Short in the front, long in the rear. Just know that many reflexes don't suppress any better than a normal muzzle mount but some can reduce length a bit and retain efficiency.

I second the Saker, it's made of Stellite --you do know that's the shit they line M2HB barrels with, right? Beats Inconel in toughness. If you fuck one of those up, I bet Sico would want it back just for their museum because I'm not sure it's been done. Sico is HARD to beat on any of their products. They have their shit on tight and went from not being on my radar to being one of my number ones after a couple of purchases.

You want light and short and quiet... Not asking for much, are 'ya? Cans are a trade off. If you don't plan on mag dumps or abuse, you could get away with a TBAC, which is phenomenal for all but abuse. SDN6 is a good can, but mounts are shit --an AAC direct thread wouldn't be bad I'd imagine (I have to give credit where due, hate AAC but it's got to do with mounts, their cans are actually well made and work very well). Lots of options, but I'd stick with the "abuse" cans as I call 'em, Sakers and such. I have the KAC QDC and first impressions are awesome but I haven't used it yet so I can't give you any more info other than it's solid, not too long, easy on, easy off, and it's light for a can designed for moderate abuse.

QDC was my most expensive can IIRC, more than the indexed .50BMG Elite custom made with an indexed brake. It's damn nice, just wish they'd incorporated circumfential welding but that may not matter.

The crux nemises looks perfect for my goal but the numbers and ratings seem to good to be true! Anyone have 1st hand expierience with them?

No personal first hand experience yet (I have a Crux Archangel in NFA jail), but a friend has been using a Crux .45 acp pistol can on his .375 cheytac - no issues there at all.

They seem pretty tough.

Ok ive decided between the DA sandman s or k, im leaning toward the K, everything ive read is they are about 7 db between eachother. Both will pretty much just knock the bark down a bit on the scar cqc. The s will obviously do it better but still not hearing safe. Any reason to stay away from the k?

Rugged Surge 7.62. Modular for shorter or longer configuration, unconditional lifetime warranty, machine gun rated. very quite. I love mine. I have bought their entire line after buying the Surge I was so impressed. Zero complaints
