Absolutely Brutal Mistreatment of a Dying Vet ... On His Deathbed

Veer if that had been my Dad, spending the rest of my life in jail would be on my to do list. I would consider the prison less punishment than I deserved for placing my father in the care of such evil people. Perhaps the DA would be mistaken and think I was being punished for skinning three people alive. He would be wrong because those are not people.

Most people would be surprised how many of these places treat people. As a detective I worked several cases at 1 nursing home of theft of everything from money from purses to rings right off the elderly 's hands.

I even recommended to my mother in law that she get a spy camera for her mother's room. Fortunately, she wasn't in long enough to have that issue.

Most of these "facilities" have major staffing and budget problems and can only afford to hire shitty staff. I'll suck-start my Glock before I go into one of those places to live.

Yea there's no way those people would be long for this world if that had been my father......

Wot? Aren't you a perfect place with unicorns and such... Fuck that perhaps that old vet should've had a pistol with him and with his last drop of oxygen put few .45s through those niggers and then at least die knowing he made planet a bit better once more...

There will be a little slap on the wrist for the facility and a few idiot staff will be rotated out and new staff that care just as little about life will be brought in.
This is what you get for a selfish self centered society where the individual family does not want to take care of their young or their elderly themselves like it used to be done.
Just don't ever let yourself get put in a nursing home, pretty much a guarantee you will be treated worse than an animal till you die horribly.

There be no jailtime or probably no slap on the wrist in punishment . Don't know the privacy laws in GA. atlanta ? . I am surprised privacy laws even let a recording slide-in the courtroom . ( possibly ? ) That is why they ( leaked it ) to the media for public opinion and public outcry for punishment .
Privacy laws here in OR. I know a guy who was hospital employee who took hidden recording ( inside hospital property) of what he claimed abuse . He took recording to HR for action . He was immediately fired and escorted off property by security and banned from property . Then the hospital ran it all threw local LE and made them stack criminal charges on top of that few days latter .

But in your example, did the people actually doing the abuse ever get punished? Or was it just the person exposing the abuse that got railroaded to hush up the multi billion dollar abuse industry?

Ladies and gentlemen....
these bitches are despicable, to begin with.
I can honestly say, that I personally have first-hand experience with situations such as these. I have lived in hospitals for some months, and due to my injuries, I was transfered to the Geriatric Ward of a National Veteran's Hospital here in this city. Simply due to the fact that my skeletal injuries were very similar to many "older generation" whom are in for hip replacements and the like. (amongst everything else that was broken, my pelvis was broken in 4 places.)

I was transferred to this facility on the Friday of Labour Day weekend. The things that happened, primarily through the night-shifts, were HORRENDOUS. On the following Tuesday, when the actual management came in, I demanded to have the facility Head come to my bed. (I wasn't ambulatory)

We were 3 to a room, and when the lady arrived, I started telling her what-all I saw happen over the weekend. I won't deny that my voice was loud, simply because I was mad, and I was serious as a heart-attack. The lady then left, and came back with a couple of nurses in tow, so that we could all be in the same room at the same time, to talk about what had happened. One nurse (a real bitch) kept saying "stop yelling at me" and I kept telling her "I'm not yelling, I'm just mad, and I'm telling it the way it was."

The head lady continued to listen, and pressed me for more details and whatnot. Bitch nurse continued to tell me to 'stop yelling'. I then held up my hand to the head lady, looked directly at 'bitch-nurse' and actually yelled at her saying "THIS IS YELLING, CAN YOU SEE THE DIFFERENCE", (to which, damn-near everyone on the ward heard that exchange....) bitch-nurse got all red-in-the-face, and ran out of the room.

End result, was head lady retired one nurse, fired another nurse, transferred two more nurses, and the whole facility got "shaken up". (I was there for a few more months). The important part though, was this:

Other fellow inmates (that is what we called ourselves, because NONE of us patients were actually there willingly or on our own volition) (Elderly slipped in bathtubs, or on ice, or what-have-you...) anyways, the other fellow inmates came up to me, over the next few weeks, individually and out of the blue, to THANK ME, for speaking up and speaking out,,, because they'd complained as well previous, but nobody would listen or do anything about it. Too many were bed-bound, and not able to move around. Pretty much all were "somewhat meek" and not able to be assertive. Me, being young and NOT intimdateable (?) wasn't about to let this go.

When I was young, the standard saying that pretty much anyone would say/hear, when helping another and receiving thanks was "Not a problem, it was the least I could do". Right?

Well, nowadays,,, the PC assholes and snowflakes have taken that mantra and turned it into "always do the least you can do",,, and we, as the older generation... have to stop accepting mediocrity. Expect more from everyone, because as long as we continue to 'accept less', we shall all continue to get less and less.

And that's just a little, sad. Make the world a better place!

I've told my wife to get the gun close to my hand (1911, though. I refuse to go out via a Glock).

Fuckin sad that our Country takes better care of generational teet suckers and illegals better than the people who offered to hang there asses out for said Country and our freedom .
We as a society have no respect for our elders . Sickens me .

My plan is for her to sit me in the car, give me the keys, and take off for a couple of hours. CO will do the rest, cleanly with no mess to wipe off.

What. The. Fuck? Over? I'm afraid we are far over due for some hard times, seems we have forgotten how to take care of each other. For fucks sake where is the common decency, and compassion?

I have met the guy a few time but all my info was 2nd hand from people that actually work with him . From what I remember it was all pushed on him, and all deflected off hospital . The Hospital immediately pushed LE to file criminal and after that, the hospital was his least of worries as he was fighting criminal prosecution and paying lawyer fee's-$ and all without a job . In the end was some sort of lawyer settlement with guilty plea on him, and It all worked out with him guilty, serving community service, with also opportunity in three years ( him to pay-$ ) for expungement off his record like none of it ever happened . Also remember something about the Nurses union organization was somehow entwined in the mess against him .
I think that they threatened the broad interpretation of Fed. HIPAA and held that over his head, that also includes 'electronic info' the sharing of patient and healthcare worker with privacy rights . All I know now is that he move out of state and has another job in same health field that he is formally trained in .
.

I would be a pissed motherfucker. Nurses and those in charge better be in prison for man slaughter or I will be for murder and desecrating a corpse.

I absolutely do not want to burden anyone. I will if at all possible go to my favorite place (have posted pics, middle of no where) that I find solitude in/at and off myself. I have had a good life. My wife and especially my daughter do not need to take care of me while taking from their life.

Dealing with that a little with my father/mother in law. Heard from them for 20+ years. "We dont want to be a burden" . Well guess what, all those shitty and utterly stupid financial decisions you made the last 40 years have come due. Just saying, if i have the mental awareness and phyisical ability i vow to not be a burden. Grandpa is 92 and doing okay for 92 ao I have high hopes.

Believe it or not, there are people who work in those places who genuinely care for their residents. My wife is one of those who do care deeply for them. I'm not saying these types of incidents don't happen, they do. In my experience hearing about abusive treatment of residents, when they're caught charges are brought against them. My wife has seen fellow employees escorted out in handcuffs for theft, striking a resident, negligence, etc. She has been questioned after a resident falls on her watch, and takes it very personal.

Don't let the actions of a few cloud your judgement of the rest of the people who do care, and also do a job on a daily basis that most of us here won't do.

That was his mistake. HR is NOT on your side when you have evidence implicating your employer in criminality.

That info should have been made available anonymously to LE and media instead.

Brother i believe you. Just like, gun owners, police, teachers, mechanics, the general population. 98% of people are good. But that 2% sure is like a disease. They can at times infect the week minded and get people to follow along.

Vets get fucked all the time. It's like these fuckers see one of us laying in a bed and totally forget we were trained to kill people and move on to the next motherfucker without missing a beat. They see us as weak. They see us as war criminals. They don't see a person. And nursing homes are the place where you do go to dump a family member off to die so you don't have to deal with them anymore. There are some that need special care, but they get lumped in with everyone else. So the staff just see their jobs as changing bedpans until they die. They feel they are in charge and there isn't a goddamn thing you can do about it. If stuck in bed and barely able to do anything, yeah, you are at their mercy.

I see this in VA hospitals and I DO NOT put up with it. I told one phlebotomist who was hurting this old vet who just had a stroke. He kept trying to get up and walk and mumbled all fucking night. So this 35yo black man who obviously didn't like white people and it showed, decided he'd get rough with him, snap that old man into shape! I told him he had the stroke, take it easy. He told me to mind my business. I told him it was my room, I'm a goddamn vet and this man next to me is too and that makes him my brother. He isn't too heavy to carry. And I can pull these tubes out, rip the bandages off my foot and hobble over there and break your goddamn neck. He called my bluff, I started pulling shit out and the alarms went off and he figured, rightly so, that was a good time to get out of there. Somebody else came back and got the blood.

On my end, the nurses stole more than half my pain meds, I was in agony but they kept telling me I wasn't due. Turned out my fucking pain specialist had called the hospital and told them to basically give me whatever I asked for, that I'm not the type to abuse drugs or the system in order to get more. Wow.

One of my roomies was a Vietnam vet and had been through HELL. Most of it here in good 'ol US of A after the war. Long story short, I gave him $100 IIRC and wished him luck. Told him to call anytime and we'd try and help him with the Legion, no reason he should suffer like that. VA treated him like a homeless bum. I treated him like a human, a brother and a friend because that's what he is to me. It broke my fucking heart to see a grown man like that cry, it made me cry, over something so goddamn basic that we should take it for granted.

My mom's much worse, she'll have your goddamn job if you forget one iota. She was a nurse for over 40 years, starting during Vietnam at Madigan. She puts up with absolute zero bullshit, I think she writes up at least one or two people per hospital visit.

Sometimes just letting your coat slide back a bit while saying "I'd probably just fucking lose it if anything bad happened to (him/her)" is all need be done. Getting your point across beforehand is good measure, and doing it in a way that isn't a direct threat is as good as, if not better than, a direct one, and no laws are broken.
