mike castleton went out fishing today, after visiting me yesterday, good to see you bro...
lets get a fishing report shall we
Good seeing you again to buddy.
Btw, I tried to post the pic and it's too large. Can't figure out how to resize it on my phone.
Fishing report:
The day started off with beautiful skies, low winds and frost on my roof with the temps hovering right at 43*.
Got to the ramp and did my prep. While doing so, a kayaker was loading out.
He said the winds were already picking up and the tide was really low. (No shit, we had a super moon) He also mentioned getting skunked.
Finished my prep (or so I thought) and backed her in.
Then it hit me, the plug wasn't screwed in...
Drove back up the ramp and let it drain out. Screwed it in and selected reverse again.
Hopped in and turned the key. NOTHING.
WTF?
No problem, I keep a set of cables, I'll just jump it.
NOPE!
Dead as a mackerel.
Is anyone noticing a trend here?
Out it comes again. Off to Advance Auto Parts ten miles away.
A quick check, a hundred dollar bill and off to the ramp again.
Dunk it, fire it up and head out.
Headed out to the open to go north to a good trout spot.
When I got there, there was a pontoon boat on my spot.
All that water and he's on MY spot.
Did I mention it was a rough windy ride to the spot?
Fished another area a couple hundred yards away with no luck.
The winds died off.
Okay maybe for about three minutes, then they came back with a vengeance.
Decided to head into the mangroves. Did I mention the ride was rough? Coming back it was wet too.
Tried a couple of usual spots and nothing. The hurricane has really changed the layout in the area.
Tried more places, etc, blah, blah, blah.
Nothing. Not a single bite. I will say I wasn't the only idiot out there and no-one had been having any luck.
I shoulda just went home when I found the dead battery...
