Just wjen you were sure that it could not possibly get any more ridiculous

So why are people in mosques to be protected and armed, but not teachers or staff in schools to protect our children? It seems to me like for Sheriff Israel the school children of America are just decoys to keep the nutjobs from going after his political masters.

I worked on a project near the local Mosque and had to drive by it everyday for almost a year. I noticed every time they had service there was a uniformed police officer standing somewhere near the entrance and his cruiser was always parked out front......I always wondered if they paid extra to have him their or if the PD just provided him has a courtesy.

If it were left up to me I would arm them with guns rather than bombs. While I do appreciate the humor, lets admit that in general the Mosque's here in the USA are not bomb factories.

I'm just trying to put a little levity in this serious situation. As a father of 2 boys in public school I do care about the safety of kids in school and it disgusts me that our kids are pretty much sitting ducks thanks to these "gun free zones".

I had a long answer written out, but the page spun me some bullshit about security issues and ate my response.

People have a God-given right to self-defense, no matter what they call Him. They're armed because they figure eventually one or more self-righteous mouth breathers are gonna come bursting in one day. It happened in Oak Creek, WI, when fuck-up Wade Michael Page came gunning for Muslims who weren't there, killed six of us, and shot a cop fifteen times, including two head shots. Fortunately, fuck-up was a rotten shot, and the cop survived. None of you would believe the shit I've seen and heard out of supposed human beings in my direction since 2007. One day someone's hatred and bigotry may catch up with me, but they'll find me in a pile of my own brass when it does.

@DuneBoer : Yet, nothing.

They are not gun free zones in Alabama. As a CCP holder I can carry on school grounds and inside just like LEOs. Teachers with CCPs can carry as well.

VeerG, I hope you are not implying that I have said that any American who is not a criminal should not be able to use a firearm to defend himself. I have not seen any respondents to this thread say that the Mosque should be disarmed. This thread is about the irony of the turd-buckets who did not defend the school thinking that Mosques should be armed but not schools.

For that matter (I think) even Maser's crack about the mosque defending their-selves with bombs was more of a joke than anything else.

Not in the least. If anything, you made a similar assertion about the right to self-defense. I'll admit that I was concerned about where the thread could have gone, and may still go. We joke about a lot of shit, but a few of us undoubtedly take it to heart in a seriously brain-dead hateful fashion. I don't bitch about the day to day in real life, but the fact of the matter is that some of us have the mistaken notion that others breathe American air as a matter of grudging courtesy.

@ArmyJerry Note that the word "FUCK" has a c in the middle of it. You don't have a dog in this FUCKING discussion.

Hi,

Lets face it..churches are armed no matter what religion is practiced within its' walls.

Anyone care to guess how many armed security members are at Lakewood Church/Joel Osteens home, World Changers Church International/Creflo Dollars home, Cornerstone Church/John Hagees home?

Anyone care to guess how many times the armed security members of these churches have had to be called into action because some crazy shithead intended to harm church members and staff?

Sincerely,
Theis

Not saying Mosques shouldn’t be able to defend themselves from lunatics. My life experience and reality tells me eventually these places radicalize and pollute young minds. Every religion has its zealots. These folks like bombs.

You do your own thing, but I believe you're mistaken. I took this picture this morning in an Alabama public school. Even if there's some local exemption for CCW holder, there's still Fed law. I was standing next to 5 retired cops who are now School Resource Officers and are awaiting a legal determination on whether THEY will be allowed to carry a firearm in the schools where they work. If retired cops from this county who work as SRO's can't legally carry in a school, you may be operating under a misconception.

Look, guys. You all just need to give up your guns. History has shown repeatedly that the government should be responsible for protecting you.

Way to pass the buck there skippy. I'm sure getting thrown under the bus will endear you much love and respect from your fellow officers and the community.

Am I the only one who noticed the obvious irony that Sherriff ISREAL is telling the Mosques to arms themselves?

WTF are you talking about? How many times have people lost their lives because they went to Sunday service? Non of these sick kids have ever crazy enough to shoot at mosques so why do they need to arm themselves? Ain’t no body shooting Muslim. Giving these people a handout is a bad idea. Huh I give up.

The pussmanship on display there was among the most disgusting I've ever witnessed. I'd get fired in a fucking heartbeat if I ever tried to puss out like that.

"The actions of my team-members are not my responsibility".... fuuuuuuucccckkkk that...

Obama and Holder Changed Broward County Law Enforcement for Racial Reasons

What if you were to learn that local police departments, sheriff’s offices, and school districts have been awarded grant money from the Obama administration for doing just that: looking the other way when certain crimes have taken place? On purpose, so as to change the racial proportion of the prison population, among many other things?

The article

The "gun free zone" federal law clearly states that state law takes priority.

Not to step on your toes. And last I knew only Utah and Ohio allowed any CCW permit holder to carry in any school.

With that a quick search says yes a permit holder can carry in a piblic school in Alabama. I am looking for exact law to quote.

The law referenced at the bottom of that sign says that any student found to be in possession of a weapon on school property minus a couple of exceptions shall be expelled for 1 year.

Here you go. Your out @bogeybrown because of part (b) habitual drunkard

Weapons on school property part (c) with exceptions per 13A-11-74

I don't see exceptions for permit holders here but still looking.

Shit had to read a little further part (e) on the first link clearly states CCW permit holders are exempt from part (c), as are SRO's

Why spin this around on to the muslims and mosques, It was a white kid that caused all this shite, muslims would not dare to pick up a gun in the US because that would only have one out come.

What, like the pulse shooter? The dude who tried to lite up the draw mohammed contest in Tx? The Boston bombers? San Bernadino? DC snipers?

Yep, It did not workout to well for those Boston Nuts did it, but wasn't the DC guys American ?

Most were American, all of 'em were muslim, though.

I'd say it worked out well for them, they hurt a lot of innocent people.

EDIT - Except for the draw mohammed guys. They got laid out by security. One good guy injured. That didn't go well for them.

Double edit - (forgive the AJ channel, but didn't turn up relevant video in < 30 seconds of searching and it is fine enough.)

My point here is your point is invalid.

The Black panthers have been around since the 60s I doubt that there are any of the original bunch left, But they had an axe to grind because back then they were treated like second class citizens even more so in the deep south, The later lot a more like a bunch of wanna be's, But lets face it since the late 80's early 90's some Afro Americans have gotten a raw deal or dead.

Maybe so, but the black population drawn to Islam is curious. Nevertheless, Muslims in America have as much a right to bear arms as any of us do, and here we can see that they do so freely.

Not sure what you meant by 'Muslims would not dare'.

It seems like they look for something to be angry at, no matter if it is when they are talking or Rap music which is either about sex or shooting/killing and I think that is a big reason why other folks show little or no respect for them, So many people of such groups demand respect as their right and that they should not have to do anything to get it instead of being earned, I am old school as far as that is concerned people earn respect and if they can't or won't do that then I am done with them, I will give it to anyone who is worth an ounce of salt but I won't let anyone take it for free.

Thanks man. I'm still trying to decipher some of that.

I'm currently doing some work assisting the SROs in public schools and am not allowed to carry, nor are they. Per the cites you provided I'm guessing that the School Board is now considering granting them authorization which seems to be the last hurdle they would need to clear.

Your Welcome, School board doesn't have much to say about it really. Alabama looked to have a law also that prevented government entities below the state level from passing gun laws (other than no shooting in city limits, kind of stuff.)
It might be kind of new for Alabama, in Utah 20-25 years ago when the same law was passed with CCW laws the Education dept fought the hell out of it. State legislature re-passed the law 5 years in a row, went to court 8 times and won every time AND still had to threaten to pull funding from the schools before they conceded.

During the Bow Hunting season the DWR (division of wildlife resources) has a regulation that you can not have a firearm in your possession while bow hunting. While the CCW law (law over rides regulation) clearly states that if you have a permit you can carry in/on ANY public place/land ANY time. It took 5 years and abut 200 arrests for the DWR to conceded on that as well. In fact all CCW holders were sent a letter stating if the DWR issued a citation or arrested you for that, you had to legally fight the ticket/charges. Letter stated that the judge(s) would throw out the charges if you showed up to court. If you just paid the fine you would be admitting guilt and would lose your CCW for ever. No gun crimes allowed to get a Utah CCW.

Government fighting government isn't America great.

I was looking at the section regarding school officers being authorized by the local board:

School security personnel and school resource officers qualified under subsection (a) of Section 16-1-44.1 , employed by a local board of education, and authorized by the employing local board of education to carry a deadly weapon while on duty are exempt from subsection

Almost all of our guys are AL POST certified former or retired cops who now work as SROs, but are currently not allowed to carry in school for whatever reason. All I can figure I see that the local School Board didn't authorize it, which appears to now be under review.

Government fight government isn't America great.

The CCW holders should have sued for wrongful arrest & should have held everybody in that stupid DWR to account for it & demanded criminal charges against those doing illegal arrests.
Perhaps some of those trying to do illegal arrests might have been a bit more hesitant to break the law if of some of them were never allowed to work for the government again and their buddies never saw them getting another sweet government check again, as Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn once surmised regarding other circumstances.

This kind of garbage goes on because of the total lack of personal accountability and personal consequences too many in various "agencies" enjoy.

Alabama has open carry for those not otherwise prohibited and this sign would apply to them. However Alabama Law code 13A-11-72 Para c & e says otherwise for those with a concealed carry permit. Check it out and see if you read it the same as I do. Let me know.
