I will never stop mocking the French for what they have become, but I have enough experience with them to know that there are more than a few that stand tall and tower over their cheese-eating-surrender-monkey countrymen. This guy looks to be one of best. He swapped his life for that of a hostage. It looks like he made the decision quickly and by himself. Some may call it stupid, but whatever he was thinking I say this guy had a big brass pair. France is reaping what it has sown and is often the case a it falls upon a few to deal with the jagged edges of a tattered society.

We had "Remember Pearl Harbor"

This needs to become "Remember Beltrame"

Totally agree. Yes, a superior man... We'd be proud to call him an honorary American Patriot, wouldn't we? He lived up to the highest ideals of an oath... and to what we should all aspire to as human beings.

But we have to remember that the cries of "Remember the Alamo," "Remember the Maine," and "Remember Pearl Harbor" were uttered while on the offensive... to stir the troops and fire them up to destroy out enemies and drive to ultimate, decisive and unconditional victories.

Today... what would be the point? "Remember Beltrame..." when wringing our hands and doing nothing? While still letting Sharia take over France? While bringing in millions more terrorists... or potential terrorists... ?

He won't be remembered. Sadly. He'll be swept under the rug of political-correctness and trying not to offend the Moslem hoards... His sacrifice beyond noble... his memory an inconvenient speed bump in the globalists agenda of an Esperanto Utopia.

Nice thought, though.

In memory,

Sirhr

The French have a long history of almost insane personal bravery and pathetic leadership.

With out the help of Lafayette's leadership and troops, and the French Navy, its unlikely we would have defeated England. Or it would have become a really, destructive war of attrition.

Yep. Look at what they did at Dunkirk! It would have been OVER if they hadn't slowed down the Germans so the Brits and a handful of French could get away.

Know what "France" means?

"Francisca" which is a brutal tomahawk the Francs used to fight the Romans.
