Journalists, it seems, are caught up like mid-summer bugs in the Blame Trump for Everything Zapper® (BTfEZ).
Two of them, at last count, have wrecked themselves upon the shores of false narrative and wild speculation.
The enemy, and at this point I have no other term for them that fits so adequately, in dribs and drabs are beginning to self-destruct, pitching themselves upon the ramparts in the run-up to the 2018 elections.
It's obvious that they intend to attempt to circumvent the Constitution in order to restore governance of a distinctly redder shade across this land.
How hard it will become in the near future to practice composed restraint in the face of this and not give in to the fulminating reaction that the Left seems hell bent on provoking.
For the time being, pray for peace, but otherwise, prepare.

Reuters Breakingviews Editor Rob Cox admitted that he “responded emotionally and inappropriately” after being called out for jumping to conclusions prior to the facts emerging. Police said the suspected gunman, eventually identified as Jarrod W. Ramos, targeted the newspaper after a lengthy feud regarding a 2012 defamation lawsuit.
“This is what happens when @realDonaldTrump calls journalists the enemy of the people. Blood is on your hands, Mr. President. Save your thoughts and prayers for your empty soul,” Cox wrote in the deleted tweet, according to TheWrap.

A reporter at the Springfield newspaper The Republican abruptly resigned Friday after putting out a sarcastic tweet suggesting the alleged gunman who fatally shot five people inside the office of an Annapolis, Maryland, newspaper left a Donald Trump hat at the crime scene.
The reporter, Conor Berry, apologized for the since-deleted tweet in a follow-up message posted to his Twitter feed on Friday.
“Folks, My 21-year career as a ‘journalist,’ a fancy term that makes my skin crawl, frankly, came to a screeching halt yesterday with one stupid, regrettable tweet,” Berry wrote. “Can’t take it back; wish I could. My sincere apologies to all good, hardworking reporters and to POTUS supporters.”
