Soros Drops Smoke Screen in NYT Interview

The word Liberalism originated from Liberty, and is the basis of our Declaration of Independence and our Constitution is based on liberal democracy ideals of elected officials and the government being bound by laws, as well as personal freedoms and equality. However, they were in the classic sense rather than the modern sense, the change being liberalism morphing into a social welfare basis and the government's ability to be biased in its taxations and distributions over the 19th and early 20th centuries. In other words, our concept was hijacked by the left.

Yes Ron Paul would be fellow traveler of the Founding Fathers. Hillary Clinton not so much.

Let's call "modern liberals" what they are "Social Fascists"

They morph away.

Did you know George Wallace is now considered Republican by Kieth Ellison?

History, What's that?

yes the term liberal used to not be so dirty, so now we have to add classic liberal to clarify. or what we call a libertarian today.

Do we define by what something is, or by that which it is not, in our perception?

I've always taken the idea of Conservative political thought as that which strives to see the Republic function as was envisioned originally in the Constitution, or to conserve its directives for an interbalanced governmental framework between the separate Branches and the states therein the Republic.

Are states' rights, then, a Conservative, or a Liberal aim, or is it too hard to apply an accurate litmus test? And what of other issues?

Not unlike sandwich spread:

Liberal - to apply thusly, with little care or wanton forethought.

Conservative - to hold back with concerned restraint. Acting with guarded preparation for the future AND minimal influence upon all.

Green - tree-hugging, feather-sniffing, fish-kissing, granola-munching stoners whom throw anything and everything into the slices of bread to make it as crunchy, large, and "tactiley satisfying" with ZERO regard for tomorrow. Instantaneous indulgence towards emptiness.

You forgot to add that liberals stick their butter knives in your peanut butter and then complain that it's smooth when they wanted crunchy.
