Hey there,

Ive got an Impact barreled action in an MPA chassis thats been performing excellent. I have however noticed that the barrel is slightly off-center in the hole it comes out of at the front of the MPA chassis.
Which component would you guys say is most likely the culprit here? No big deal, she shoots just fine, but the cant in the barrel/chassis is oh-so-slightly noticeable and I'm kind of shocked as these are quality components.

It shoots fine, and the zero on my scope didnt change more than 1 or 2 clicks horizontally from the last rifle it was on. Ive actually had this happen to me before with an XLR chassis, but all it took to fix it was swapping out the carbon fiber forend.
I'll look into the barrel being the problem. I'll see if I can't take the action out and look at some of it in closer detail.

Gun shoots great. I'm 10 thou off center. Please help. Give me a break. I'll shoot every barrel off center versus a barrel perfectly centered that doesn't shoot for shit

Well its no big deal like I said, for the most part I was curious if this was a common occurance. But by the replies you guys seem to be saying it happens from time to time. So I know its nothing to worry about. Helps to know for sure.

I was also wondering if it indicates that the action was not true. Thats not the case right?

Thanks for the responses fellas!

Stacked tolerance differences in an action/screws/screw holes/barrel/chassis over a foot or foot and a half sometimes result in a 1/16 of an inch flaw at the end. Looks to be about what you're dealing with. Generally, it's all in the chassis. If it was not, the thing would require a lot of windage correction If you can't swap the chassis out, then just live with it. I'm a bit OCD and hate that sh!t but if it is shooting great without several clicks of windage correction then who knows how it will perform with a new perfect "looking" chassis. I've seen very little "perfection" in anything man makes. I've learned to live with a bit of imperfection. I still hate that sh!t, though... You'll be fine.

There is tolerance stack up in ALL manufactured products. That is what you're seeing and it's no evidence that any one component is somehow defective.

If it's still a problem send it to me and I'll somehow learn to bear it.
