I’m helping a friend look for a scope. He needs to shoot with his left eye, and is ready to move into a nice optic, and wants something with left-side windage knob. I see there are scopes from S&B and Kahles. Are there other scopes in mil/mil with illumination the 4 or 5 to 20 or 25 range that offer left-side windage?

Thanks in advance.

The only time you ever touch your left/right adjustment is when youre sighting in/getting your zero. After that, its just there for decoration.

I can't help either, but I'll say that I shoot left handed and very much prefer the windage on the right side. You don't have to look around the scope to see it, and you can run the turret while keeping your trigger hand engaged. IMO left-side windage is best suited for right handed shooters.

That’s funny.

Places like the West it really gets blowing & you’ll find that sometimes you may have several+ mills of wind.

In this case, some of us are dialing a base wind lets say 4 Mils and holding for the rest.

But the main reason to be able to see your windage if it is not capped or locked, is so that if it’s rolled by contact with the obstacles or when slung, you can easily spot it. Actually, it really doesn’t matter what side it’s on, but you still need to look at it.

That said I also generally zero and then don’t touch my windage again except make sure I didn’t roll or for the above crazy wind days.

edited to add:
I have a K525i, but run the windage on the right (I shoot left). I do not know of other quality scopes but what was mentioned that offer all the features. I like the parallax at the top, then all features are adjusted by the same hand.

I seldom dial for wind as well, but outside of scopes already mentioned, I am not aware of any modern scopes with windage turret on the left side.

Now, to be fare, with typically hunting scopes that have simple symmetric reticles (like plex), I have seen people mount their scopes at a 90 degree angle, so the elevation turret becomes windage, but I do not think that is what you are looking for.

I was in a discussion yesterday about something similar with a left handed shooter at a local match. He runs nightforce benchrests so he can have parallax adjustment on the bell and be able to reach it whereas he can't with a side (left side) parallax adjustment scope while on the rifle. This was benchrest though at known distances, and we didn't discuss PRS style, as he was an older guy that is only into benchrest.
