Did some searching online and couldn't really find any mention of it. Buddy of mine recently picked up a very lightly used B14 in 6.5 Creedmoor. He brought it over today for me to get his mounts properly torqued. I like the rifle a lot. I've only handled one other in the past in a store so I don't have any comparison. Two things I noticed and have questions about.
1. The bolt is VERY tight at the top of opening and beginning of closing. Took the firing pin assembly out, degreased, and reassembled with no change. I'll post a video, but the video doesn't show it very well. Takes what I think is way more force than it should to move it. It's still smooth, not gritty or jumpy, just very tight.
ETA: He brought it by the gunsmith on the way back home. The smith said he personally owns one and the bolt issue is common. The come from Bergara with the firing pin assembly threaded all the way in. He took it back one full turn and the issue was fixed.
2. Chambering a round from the internal mag is very clunky. Again, takes more force than I would think neccessary. Also feels as if the round is catching on something. The dummy round I cycled was scraped up pretty good. I'll include a picture of that as well. My first though was maybe too much tension from the mag spring?
I'd appreciate anyone who can weigh in and provide any info.
