I've been using Centurion's Mk12 and Recon barrels for some time now. I like them well enough but when they die, I would like to try a Bartlein with an Intermediate gas system. Centurion advertises their chambers as:

Chamber: optimized for use with MK262 (Black Hills 77gr equivalent)

No idea what chamber specs they/CRANE use for the Mk12, but it's served me well. Given that I have cases of Blackhills stockpiled (and no intent to mess with 5.56 reloads), I would like to keep the chamber for my next build. Any idea on what exactly is being used?

@MSTN what chamber are you using with Craddock?

I would be surprised if you could do better than a Wylde chamber. I have shot m262, BH77s, Fed 262 and a host of handloads with 69 and 77gr bullets and it shoots them all good in five different barrels.

Yeah, I know Wylde will be fine and have shot guns with that chamber with good results.

What I'm curious about is that if the Wylde leade is the optimum for a diet of ONLY this particular round. It's good, but is there a better fit?

You know I actually wondered the same thing- when I read the Centurion site and it says it is chambered for the 77 Bl Hills. I mean, I was curious if it actually different?

I have a Shilen ultra match, not from Rainer and it shoots IMI 69 gr. cheap stuff right at 1/2" so that is not a bad option either for lower priced ammo!

I've a lot of cbc and imi 77 gr stocked up, shooting wylde and compass lake. Not smart enough to tell you either is better but cle chamber might be another option for you.
And I really like dealing with compass lake.

So...

.223 Wylde
.556 CLE Match
.556 MOD 0 (Noveske and the V Seven Match off-shoot)
.556 Israeli Match

@260shooter, I've reached out to Craddock...still waiting on a response

I've got the first three of the 4 you list. Several Wyldes, couple CLE, and one Noveske. Cant tell any difference.

And btw Mk262 and the CBC, different lowers with worn springs, buffer weights, and different gas hole sizes in the barrels, created more problems than the chamber design for me.
Once the function problems were identified, the accuracy was the same. Ymmv.

Heres the biggest comparison Ive seen
