California is full retard. People in Malibu live in a sand dune off of a beach.
It’s is a desert climate. So add water and you have an oasis

It’s so frustrating hearing people act like this is the first big fire and it’s due to man made climate change.

As opposed to, its due to
Overgrown suburban homes
Trees and shrubbery all around Gerald buttlers home and others
No fire breaks
No requirement for burn proof fences- steel or concrete(stone)

Going camping? You cannot pick up dead wood to burn it. You need to bring wood or buy firewood. All the dead scrub must be left On the ground

There has been an average of two fires in the Malibu area every decade since 1929.

Big Malibu Fire again in 2007

On some trees the seed pods only pop open from fire. This is how nature regulates growth. When mama nature wants to burn she gonna burn baby. If it was man made then when you build a house on a powder keg sooner or later someone is going to strike a match. JMHO I live in Hurricane Country. All men are ultimately responsible for their choices.

Yeah, saw some lady on the local news yesterday saying "It never burns here. I've lived here since 1978 and it never burns here."

Smh...let me think about this, if you're shit hasn't burned in 40 years, doncha think you just might be a little over due for a bad fire? Sometimes you just can't fix stupid.

Why? Nothing to burn next to the home

Looks like an ideal location for a large underground bunker, and with plenty of open fields of fire. Just need a few pillboxes on the corners, and I'd be all set. :) ...Well, maybe lay some claymore's out in that near treeline for additional security, but yeah, I think I'd be all set in a place/location like that.

When we lived in California we maintained a fire break around the house and barns. We were backed up to NF land, when the Cedar fire broke out and was headed our way, I went out and plowed a 100' break in the sage, one of the rangers saw me and said they were going to fine me for doing it. It saved the 10 houses in our neighborhood ( we were on five acre lots) . When the NFS fire chief saw the fire break and they didn't have to do any more they said they would take care of the rangers for me. They did too. Between the bark beetles and red gum lurps there were thousands of acres of standing Dead timber ready to burn. Dumb fucks won't manage any of it, or let the public manage it either. It's just the never ending chain of stupidity. I'll take the Texas tornadoes over the CA fires any day.

Yeah, just before the 2007 fires I got hassled for clearing brush behind our property (butts up against the lake, and is an "environmental buffer zone"). We're not supposed to clear it, but I and many of the neighbors were like "F*ck that, this crap is a tinder box, it's getting cut down/pushed back 50yds". My house was the only house on the block that took any damage during those fires. The next street over (which had a "green belt" between us and their street) was devastated. The city now comes out with a chain gang (usually women) once a year and hacks all the crap back. The HOA basically told the city, "You can cut it, or we will cut it. If you try to stop us, we'll get it on the local news".

Haven't had an issue since.

I'd be so irate that I probably would have shot the ranger and plowed his body under. If government wants to know where hatred for them comes from look no further.

We have fires every year here and it's nothing new. We get little rain and any rain seems to happen in the Winter/Spring. It brings lots of fresh growth that turns brown come summer. High winds and some nut case with a book of matches, or downed power lines or whatever sparks it. Funny how climate change causes this to happen when its the same year after year.

We also aren't allowed to burn off brush or stuff like that due to air pollution laws. Talk to the rice field farmers in nor-Cal about that. I say round up the homeless and let them do brush clearing, trail work and other stuff.

Or maybe the fires are just natures way of trying to purge our state of liberals.
