Suppressors And I thought gun shopping was stressful!

I never imagined picking what suppressor to buy would be as stressful as picking what guns!

I have a 9mm that should come in the next month or so (maybe? Who knows with the shutdown), but now I can't decide what to order when it comes!

Dedicated precision can, another 9mm to put a dedicated trilug in, low pressure can for a semi auto? Maybe a mix of those option?!? Take advantage of Dead Air's Ghost promo before it's over?

Now I know how my wife feels trying to decide what purse to buy......

Something like the DA Nomad or SiCo Omega would be a good option. The numbers the Silencershop RTR shows for the Ghost aren't flattering and people seem to confirm it is loud. Wish it was the Wolf they were offering instead...

My problem with the Nomad is once you add the QD and associated muzzle device it's more expensive than the Sandman L!

It's something you're going to have for a lifetime, that you're paying for a tax stamp on and can't easily sell. Do you really want to worrying about a couple hundred bucks?

No my point was if I'm buying the Nomad and spending that much, I'd be more likely to buy the Sandman L.

I can agree that I wish the promo price was the Wolf 9sd as well.

That Sandman L attaches TDC on the mount doesn't it? That's nice, that should keep any POI changes vertical, or that's the purpose for doing it. My Elite Iron Alpha direct thread and KAC QDC cans are like that. How does it lock up? QD cans that wiggle or wobble aren't worth it. I don't know much about 'em, I'd check into that. Otherwise I've heard nothing bad about 'em and it looks like a nice can what little I know.

I have a Saker, they're fairly well priced now and they perform very well IMO and are very well made hard use cans using Stellite in construction (they line my M2HB barrels with that stuff!). They'll accept pretty much any mount if you've got one you're dedicated to. But their Trifecta is hard to beat. True QD, locks up, basically does everything AAC can't seem to manage with their cans. Fairly hefty, but they take abuse and work well.

TBAC is where it's at if you don't need a hard use can, though they do make one for 5.56 now that is. Their titanium thread over brake Ultra series is simply peerless. No competitors. CS is also peerless and they're always on here answering questions and helping people out. Great company, probably the best company in the industry. Honest.

Elite Iron makes a great can at a great price, he uses SS. As a metallurgist, he knows his shit. Similar to TBAC in a lot of ways but SS vs. Titanium. I have their .50 can and their .338 can. The .50 can is a tank, the .338 looks great but haven't used it yet. He can keep his prices low using SS and knows it's plenty tough enough and that exotics are not needed. Another honest company, supposedly they make one of the best 6.5G cans. Not to be overlooked. Custom work is also amazing.

KAC is the best all around but they're costly. They really won me over when I got the SR25. It's just a damn fine can in all respects. True QD, TDC indexing, light, not too long, some of the best mounts made, very well made, attention to detail. Half the baffles have large spacing, the other half have fine spacing and it seems to work well. Sure there are more quiet ones, more lighter ones, but cans are the epitomy of compromise. This one does well without giving too much up in any one area.

I have four AAC cans and they're good cans IF you can get 'em on a great sale, cheap, and can order ten mounts per can, find the ones that fit tight and send the rest back. Mounts are the AAC 51T achilles heel. Only way I found short of doing more work is to just order a bunch and select the ones you wanna keep and return the rest. Sorry.

But if I were you, I'd get a .22 can next. They get used the most. Or get one alongside another, they aren't that expensive and usually some place will have a deal or sale or buy one get a .22 can free. Just look around. Silencer shop alongside Sico ran a badass sale last June or July! I use Liberty cans for .22 cans, I have two plus an integral. Not a fan of their monocore centerfire cans, but do love their monocore .22 cans. They just work, and VERY well. But others make nice ones too provided no aluminum and that they're take down for cleaning.

You said you just got a pistol can, right? I'm not a fan of those, I have a Mystic X I never use (a multi use can but I dedicate it to 9mm when I use it) and a Sico Omega 9k. It's short and works pretty well on a compact or full size Glock without being as long as an SBR. Performance is better than you'd think given it's size. Only 9mm can I really need. May use the Mystic X one day in an integral SBR.

That's my .02, good luck. I typically kept a tax stamp going at all times when I was collecting cans. When I could. Always had something coming back. Look for sales and be patient. If Silencer shop and Sico run another sale like last summer, you could wind up buying 3 getting 2 free or something like that, with one being a .22 can.
