not really...remember this one in 99.

NASA lost a $125 million Mars orbiter because one engineering team used metric units while another used English units for a key spacecraft operation.

if i remember the parachute didnt open at the right altitude and it went in like a stone.
My understanding is that it was a contractor, NASA only deals in the metric system themselves.
