Rifle Scopes Leveling a scope....no scratch that, leveling a reticle

I got tired of trying to keep the rifle level when torquing the rings. That’s why I got the dead level. Badger ordnance is a solid company and they hooked me up.
They would definitely make mounting and testing your optics pretty damn easy, if they were cheaper I would probably pick one up. I will have access to a machine shop the next week or so and not a whole lot to do, I am getting some ideas
Pondering this after I posted....
I solved the high rings issue on my Model 70 with a stock pack.
What I give those old manufacturers crdit for was that they truly new the science of shooting.
I think because they lacked the gear they really developed theory using the tools they had at hand and what they lacked in equipment they made up for in brains.
Unertl had the issue of leveling reticles all figured out in his tube scope.
With an external adjust you get what you get as far as how the mounts sit with the rifle. You cant twist the tube in the rings for your cant.
Unertl knew canted reticle equals greater error than canted rifle.
These old Unertls allow the shooter to loosen two screws and turn the reticle cell in the tube.
Its genius.

Built a leveling device today, it came out ok. I figure once I get back home I will go to Lowes and look for Better leveling legs and screws that will sit flush on the rail. My neighbor is a cerakoter so I may have him hook it up. Now I just have to figure out how to get it home, ( I am out of the country)

I just had an idea. Most here seem to advocate a natural POA and leveling the scope to gravity with NPOA on the rifle. But this is hard because you have to be holding the rifle while you are doing it.
How about a system that will clamp to the gun level and true to the rifle, but shows the exact degree of offset in the NPOA.
Then you put the scope and rings in one of the leveling devices above and look at a plumb bob with a graduated circle imposed on it. You then cant the reticle in the rings to the exact NPOA offset.

I just get a buddy to clamp the wheeler barrel level onto rifle while I’m shouldering rifle comfortably without the optic on it.
I then use that level as my reference to level everything else
