So I don't have the $ for a chrono just yet but it's at the top of the list. I've been shooting 155 elds. First at 44.8gr of varget true out to be around 2750. 20" howa. I found a node at 45.2/varget. I'm guessing around 2800? I don't have a chance to shoot passed 100 to true my drop and I have a match on Saturday and velocity has been my downfall at these matches. Windage always good but either just high or low with different loads. I'm sticking with 45.2 because it shoots in the 8s consistently and I want the speed just like everyone else.
Anyone with quickly ad or experience please help get me close to the ballpark I'm gonna run 2800 and true as I go if need be. Match is PRS out to 700 no prone.

Will they have a zero period before the match? Can you ask someone there to borrow their ms3 or labradar?
Sometimes the match director will allow me to zero on the 100y range but that's it. I have a friend with a labradar but very busy and always schedule conflicts. I'm just gonna see what I get from people on here, run 2800 and adjust on the fly. I'm also going to ask the match director if I can show up early and take like 5 shots at 600 or so to true. He's seen me struggle for awhile now. I borrowed my friends AX in 6.5 used his dope and was 4th out of 35 or so. With my gun I drop to the lower 3rd of the group. The gun shoots I can consistently shoot 1 moa or a little better of a steel bench, even doing barricade practice. Just need to know how fast these damn things are going. 308 with 155s not nearly as forgiving as 6.5 with 140s true up. I like a challenge and wanted to focus on learning wind and fundamentals so I went .308. I don't regret it. Next will be a 223 bolt gun. Match director cleans the match with his 223 MPA.

It shoots well and I'm gonna stick with 45.2 for now. I'm working on a 178 eld load and those seem to shoot just as well. I'll probably make the swith to 178s only eventually but something about the 155s I find interesting and I want wind calling practice.
