Out of curiosity does anyone have any ways to practice HOLDING (not just aiming with the center cross hair or dialing) for targets at distance INSIDE a 200 yard range?

Or set up targets with lower aim points --- say a target were you aim (hold or dial) nearer the ground and hit the steel is set up higher.. you'll be limited to your backstop height. For a 1K target for my load @ 200y I would need a aiming target 6.9mils or measure out 49.7" bellow the actual steel.. -- so you might have to settle for less simulated distance

actually any decent .22 is a great way to get reps in off barricades, learn your scope, wind reading.. if you can’t afford a Vudoo, you could always do what I did: buy a Vudoo anyways, it will save you $$ in the long runThis is the number 1 reason a CZ 457 is next on my list. I have access to 300 yards less than 45 min away. That distance is way to easy with centerfire calibers on anything over a 4” plate.
22 suppressed bolt guns at that distance should start helping me learn wind much faster than the few times I can get out to farther ranges.

Good stuff, a CZ 455 or the new 457 was next on my list for a rimfire trainer/ fun gun.. I will say tho, that while a rimfire trainer is awesome,cheap to shoot, good for learning wind, building positions, shooting a center-fire off barricades is still a different ballgame than shooting a rimfire (I dunno if your into matches or not) Ultimately, I think a .22 trainer and a .308 trainer would be pretty sick

"Holding" basically requires you to need a 22lr or similar. I practice alot of positional at 300 yards on a 6" gong, but there isnt much for wind holds.
