Hi all.
Recently I got hold of my first ZCO 5-27x56 with the mpact2 reticle with a set of ARC rings. I had seen a comment where someone was a bit critical of the elevation turret, but I can honestly say this turret has the best clicks I have ever felt. Certainly no "stopping" between clicks and what I think is the perfect amount of tension to adjust.
I will be testing it out this weekend coming on my 6x47Lap, it is currently forecast to be about 43degrees celcius (113-114 in USA scale). Has anyone with a ZCO had the opportunity to use it in high heat? I will have a TT 5-25x on hand to compare as well as the usual NF, Vortex, Steiner etc.
Certainly at this stage the ZCO is ticking all the boxes, I will give more info once I've shot it

What barrel contour is it?

So finally got to the range today, thankfully it wasn't as hot as expected.
This was the first opportunity to have a good look through this scope at any real distance, and I am more impressed by it now than before!
After setting the diopter, I scanned the 500m mound and the various steel targets that were there. The first thing that struck me was how clear and true to natural the image was. There was certainly some mirage, and it was easy to wind through the parallax adjustment and see exactly what the mirage was doing all the way out. Interestingly, a guy with a gen2 Razor had a look and commented immediately how much clearer he could see what the mirage was doing. Given there was about a 10mph wind switching considerably, this is very handy.
I zeroed the rifle at 100m, and using a 1cm dot on a grid as the aiming mark made this very easy. Setting the zero stop is also super easy, 2 grub screws loosened and retightened with the supplied Allen key made this a quick process too. Zeroing at 100m left me with 27.8mils of elevation which is very impressive.
I found the clicks on both windage and elevation to be very positive, and they both lined up perfectly with the lines with no hint of wanting to stop between the lines. Obviously with so much adjustment per turn, the clicks are not far apart, but I had no issue quickly making adjustments and landing right where I needed the turret.
The feel and look of the power adjustment ring was also hands down the best I have ever felt. Little touches like the angled surface the numbers are on to make it easier to see from behind the gun are indicative of a very well thought out design.
I didn't have the opportunity to do a tall target test of the tracking, but it tracked perfectly around an A3 target with 1cm squares. I will do a larger scale test when I get a bit more time on our farm rather than a range.
I didn't test the illumination today, but have at night in my yard. Everything works as you'd expect, and I will soon test this out with some night culling of the various pest animals we have here.
Unfortunately the guy who has a TT 5-25x wasn't there today to compare, but the general consensus was that this scope was clearly in another league to every other scope on the range( nxs, atacr, gen 2 razor etc).
Overall I couldn't be happier, and I'm very keen to grab a 4-20x when they are available.
I'm certain that ZCO will be big, these scopes are serious quality
