Rimfire Rifle Photos Thread

It's as I bought it. I think they used selected wood on the Lux model stocks. I don't think it's beech, looks like walnut to me.
Roger that. I thought it was the trainer version, which is just a Lux stocked in cheap-ass beech (and is what I have)

I bet it shoots just as well as mine.

I have an ugly stock on my 22 magnum, shoots fine. It's the same type of action on both rifles....... I like both rifles, but the 22 mag shoots like a laser by comparison

This was shot at 50 yards from a sandbag using a 4 MOA Aimpoint CompC for a sight:
CZ 452 5 rnds 50 yds 11-3-18.jpg

25 shots at 50 yards, prone with only a sling for support, using a SIG Romeo5 with a 2 MOA dot. The four low shots are the first shots after zeroing the RDS at 25 yards.

Cbass1187, that looks really nice. How long did it take to complete the project on the Savage? Also how does the TacSol barrel shoot?

Savage Paint job took 2 days for the stock pattern (action was done concurrently), and then 3 days to dry / cure

then hit it with 3 or 4 coats of duracoat matte clear and 7 day cure over a fan.

A bit of gratuitous colour ;-) CZ455. scope is changing to a Midas TAC when i can find the correct rings to mount it.View attachment 7006916
I'd always wanted a laminated stock with that blue/gray color scheme, so got a Boyds ProVarmint with adj cheekpiece for a Howa Mini custom in 20 Tactical. Decided to CeraKote the bbl'd action in sniper gray, and really like the way that color goes with the blue/gray stock. I'd send you a photo of it if you're interested in the combination. Also, I put one of the Athlon Midas TAC 6-24x50 scopes on a 18" Ranch bbl'd V-22, and have been pleased with the TAC on that rifle - the optics are pretty darned good, the turret knobs have very distinct clicks, it tracks good, it's got a real zero stop, and I like the reticle. Hope you'll enjoy the TAC on your CZ as much as I like mine.

sure id like to see a picture :)

Here ya go - Howa Mini with 24" Bartlein #2B .204 bbl chambered for 20 Tactical, Boyds ProVarmint stock with laser stippling, DIP DBM, Athlon Ares 6-24x50 BTR. The 1st ProVarmint stock I bought was for another Mini in 6.5 Grendel, and I thought the nicely applied urethane finish was simply too slick. So I ordered this one with the laser stippling, and while some might not like the appearance, it solved the lack of getting a good grip on the stock quite well.

A shot of my 22RF sporters, from the top: a CMP 52D that Mike Ross barreled with a Broughton sporter blank, then Doan Trevor carved a sporter stock out of a nice English walnut blank. Only regret is not trading this 52D action for a 52C repeater - Karl Kenyon did his magic on the trigger of this one.

Rem 541T - trigger needs modified to be shootable; got a drawing that shows how to do it, just haven't gotten around to it yet. I did get a couple of John Reed's stainless 5rd mags for it though - 100% better than the plastic OEM mags.

New kid on the block - CZ 457 American. I swiped a Mike Ross 12 MOA scope base off my Anschutz 2011 & mounted an old Nikon Buckmaster 6-18x44 on it. So far, I'm really liking this new rifle - just need to get the temps up past 10*F so I can put some rounds downrange with it.

Vudoo Gun Works V-22, 18" ACE Ranch bbl in a Manners EH2 stock. I love this little hummer - it shoots about as well at 210yds as another V-22 with 22" Bartlein Kukri bbl. Really like the TT Diamond trigger, and the Athlon Midas TAC 6-24x50 scope.

Here's another CZ455. Action jimmied up and Lilja barrel installed by DJDillon. Rifle Basix trigger at a lb. MPA CZ chassis. Need to get the Anarchy Outdoors bolt handle when it becomes available.

We are working hard to get the handles produced and ready. You are probably looking at a month.

CZ455 Scout and 4.5" SBR. Waiting on my new can to get approved. The El Camino actually comes ~1/2" shy of the end of the handguard so it's kinda difficult to get it on/off with the handguard attached.

Different scope mounted. Couldn't post an image from imgur for some reason.

Here's one of mine. I set this up so I could shoot NRL22 while I play with some mods on a Ruger Precision Rimfire. It's a stock 10/22 receiver, Feddersen barrel in an Archangel stock. Sent the trigger to Brimstone for their level 2 work and mounted a Sightron S-TAC 4-20 in an Areo Precision mount. With the Atlas bipod it's a pretty accurate little rifle.

Just my standard B17. Before and after some paint.

I’ll jump in. CZ 455 Evolution 22lr. Just got it the other day. Haven’t fired it yet but I’m very confident it’ll do just fine. Cheap glass, but just for now. I plan on upgrading that and the bolt handle and that’s probably it.

This is an integrally suppressed 10/22. It has no Ruger parts save for the clear mags. Kidd receiver, bolt, 1 stage trigger, etc., Titan stock w/rear tang, Liberty Pinnacle 2 integrally suppressed barrel bored from a Green Mtn. NM blank; has 4" of barrel and 12" of monocore baffling. Scope is a 1-4x Vortex PST in low adj. USO rings (they cost as much as the scope but they were handy!). 3/4 size leather shooting sling and small Harris bipod.

By far the nicest 10/22 I've ever used/owned and it's accurate and super quiet. Only the hex shaped bore gives away that it may be suppressed.

Volquartsen Summit with Athlon Midas TAC and AAC Element 2.

What magnification are you using?

How are the Proof barreled rifles shooting compared to the steel barrels?

First time out at the range I shot a 5 shot group as small as 0.387” at 100 yards and some groups about 1.3” as well with an average 5 shot group of 0.89” (if I throw out a single flier it would have shrunk my average to 0.75”)

I’m not taking that data to heart though because it’s been breezy here in Kansas so environmental factors are playing heck on my groups. Will test again when it isn’t so windy.

While it couldn’t be called a precision rifle, my favorite is my dad’s early Springfield. It was the first rifle I ever fired and I have used it since I was a boy. He passed when I was 19 in 1990. It still feels so good in my hands and will still shoot as true as you can hold.

I have the bolt action Springfield brother to your rifle. Mine is a 246 . I have had it for for 30 years and it was old when I bought it from a pawn shop. Very accurate rifle.

Like it a lot!! Now, $64M question - precision at 100 yds.?? Group spread? Interested, may pursue.....Thanks!
Here are the latest groups. The CCI TNT seems to shoot best so far. These were shot with no barrel channel installed. Waiting to put in a custom metal channel to help stiffen the factory stock.
