I have been reading that a lot of people complain about CA in 624i scopes. I bought a gen 3 a few months ago and have looked and looked for CA to try and see what people are complaining about and found that its barely noticeable even when looking at dark rooftops on sunny days with a bright blue sky behind them. My Eotech Vudu 5-25 has very notable CA when looking at the same objects, CA jumps out at me and its very obvious. So far I've compared my 624i to a PMii, Gen 2 Razor and Vudu 5-25. The only one that has a lot of CA is the Vudu. Do they manufacture the glass slightly differently from scope to scope or am I missing something?

The biggest gripe with them was on the gen 2 from what Ive read. The gen 3 resolved a bunch of the aberration complaints. Not eliminated but reduced at least.
Yes, one to the other sample variation can have slightly different end results but thats greatly minimized in good scopes.

Thanks. I really like it and have no complaints at all. It wasn't until I bought a Eotech Vuda 5-25 that actually has noticeable CA that I started wondering what people were talking about.
One thing I've noticed about CA is that it is significantly worse off-axis. So if you're sitting prone behind it lined up perfectly at all times, it won't be all that noticeable unless the scope is really atrocious (like my Steiner T5xi was). But once you get off-axis, the CA becomes extremely easy to see. My SWFA HD 5-20 was great on-axis and even slightly off-axis. But if you got way off-axis, the CA got real bad. Cronus was the same except that it was noticeable sooner. The Kahles that I've seen were all gen 3, and weren't necessarily all that bad, but they were the worst in that price range as far as CA was concerned. Part of the issue with the Kahles is the expectation that comes along with the price. The good news is that the Kahles does almost everything else really well - good reticles, good turrets, reliable tracking, good optical resolution/clarity, etc. It just has a bit of CA, which is a bigger issue for some folks than others.
My Gen3 had a lot of CA if my eye was off center.
Have had three gen 3s... may b I was lucky but it was never an issue for me. Hell, my frequent misses were certainly not due to CA
