I have a Surgeon 1086 at a smith being finished up for a hunting rifle. It came with the tac bolt knob and according to surgeon the knob itself is 2.16 inches long and seems like it will be in the way or snag for a hunting gun. Kinda a big bulky looking thing from what I've seen. The round bolt knob of theirs is 1.68 and the shortest surgeon offers. I would like to use one of the Bighorn bolt knobs seeing it's the same thread pitch. The diamond or spiral which I would prefer, are 1.5 inches long. I don't have the action / rifle in hand and I'm curious if the 1.5 knob would be way to short to even use on the surgeon? Anyone use one of the bighorns on a surgeon or could look at their action and see how much knob would be there at 1.5 inch length. Thanks in advance.
