Rifle Scopes Burris XTR II 3X15 & the Steiner M5Xi 3X15

So I'm considering both, while most would think? it's about cost, it's not. I have an option on a Steiner 3X15 with the Tremor reticle, both are new.
The Burris will do the job, however I'm wondering if the Steiner is worth the extra coin? I like Steiner scopes, however the Burris is G2G and much cheaper?
Do I make the investment in the Steiner? sans the reticle, that I'm not a fan of ? or go with the Burris?

They’re not even in the same league, the M5 hands down if you have the money for it.

The XTR II is the most disappointing scope Ive ever had the displeasure to look through. Mine was plenty durable and tracked well but optically speaking it was trash.

There is no doubt that the M5 is superior, consider that if you do not like the reticle you are wasting your time and money. Now, if you only sorta don’t like the T3 reticle and are willing to give it an honest try, it might work out for you. However, many a scope gets moved on in the PX here simply due to reticle choice.

No matter what the features and quality of a scope is, if you do not like the reticle you will never love the scope.

Well said. I can overlook certain features or even weight; it’s hard to ignore reticle preference.

+1 about the glass not being the best. It's definitely not the worst either. In terms of durability, tracking, etc. It's retty darn rugged and the turrets are very nice. I just picked one up and put it on the PX right now. Paid $900 ish, looking to get hopefully $700 on it, or I'll just keep it. It's mint condition, SCR Mil illuminated. Been used at the range twice now, once for zeroing, and then another time of just shooting my new Tikka T3X CTR. 60 rounds through it. No scratches, mint condition. Original box, etc. Lifetime warranty.

If I can get $700 for it, I'll look to either go for the Athlon Cronus or Ares ETR. (Big price difference between the two, but we'll see).
