Hi folks I am from Duluth mn and just getting into precision shooting. I am going to go sight in my 20” a15 with a 1 in 7.7 twist Krieger barrel and it’s wearing a vortex viper 6-24x50 mrad scope witha burris pepr mount this weekend and going to try my hand at moa matches this year. Wish me luck and I look forward to chatting with everyone

Good luck sounds like a decent setup. Look into MRRA.org and DSTPrecision.com for shooting schedules for practice and matches in Minnesota. There are always a couple of great guys at each match that will give new shooters advise and borrow equipment if needed

1000,,,I,m jealous!! I have 750 yrds, with a computerized target cam, saves a ton of time on spotting hits, gives the shooter a readout to the 1/10in how far they are from the intended bullseye.

I have a range on my property that we can shoot up to 300 yards but there is a range 30 miles from me where we shoot 600 yards let’s hope the Mayo Clinic does their job right so I can shoot matches comming up but I am not looking forward to the x rays for my shoulder and 16 back injections

I heard there is a place near Two Harbors where you can shoot a mile. I don't have any other info than that, but look up MN Long Range Shooters (or something like that) on the Facebook. There's a couple posts on there about it that go into more detail.

Other than that, welcome to the hide and happy shooting.

Im not in Minnesota, yet. I spent 30 years there before moving to NE. Been here for 8 and we are moving back. Going to look at houses tomorrow and Sunday. Wife starts her new job on June 17th and I'll be done in NE on August 1st.

Looking forward to checking out the Two Harbors mile.

Two harbors is like an hour from me
My parents live on Whiteface Reservoir so they're pretty close too.

There's also the Aurora Spoetsman's club in Aurora that has paper out to 600. Thatd be about an hour from Duluth too. I'm not sure if they allow steel. My old man is a member, I'll ask him. Either way, membership is like $20 a year.

Didnt mean to derail your thread, OP, but hopefully you'll find a few new places to shoot

I don’t live too far from the whiteface lol and I am a member at the aurora range and that’s where we compete and they have steel set up out to 600

Do they have PRS style matches at the club in Aurora? I havent been there for a few years but I'll be becoming a member after we move.

We'll be up at Whiteface next weekend for a grad party. I'll be bringing my rifle for sure

Sorry to hear about your shoulder, hope you heal up quick. I’m in the Duluth area as well and a member at UNS by island lake. Been thinking about trying out the range in Hibbing as it goes out to 600. UNS is fine for now as it’s only 300 and that plenty while I build skill but would like to find different areas to shoot.
