RWS target and SUBs were horrible, almost 2 inch 10 shot groups with the SUBs
Geco ~1060fps were also fine
Keep in mind the setup is very basic, decent stable table, DIY bags, picatinny rail on the rear stock (waiting for monopod) and on the front end the same (waiting for bipod) with a rubber grip behind it, ergo the rifle doesn’t recoil nice and smoothly straight back.
Changed the bolt handle for a Pineapple style larger one, feels much better now.
Lots to think about. Too many good scopes coming out these days.
Sent it off this morning. Asked if he would and how much to modify a 10-22 barrel. I will let you know when I hear back.
The weather cooperated today and I was able to make it out to the range to finally shoot my T1X and get the scope sighted in.
I absolutely love how the rifle handles and shoots. I put 400 rounds through it to try and see what grouped the best. Out of the 400 rounds I shot, I did have about 15-20 rounds not fully eject, most spun 180 while only a couple just stuck out. I did find that getting the tenth round in the mags was much harder sometimes, but not always.
The two best shooting ammos were the Federal Gold Medal Match in first and the CCI standard target right behind it. CCI green tag was pretty close to the standard target, but produced just a couple extra fliers. Both the RWS target and match performed about the same, but didn’t seem to be as consistent as the Federal GMM. I sighted the rifle in using Federal Auto Match, which grouped better than expected for a box bulk ammo. I shot 50 rounds of each type in 5 ten round groups at 50 yards. I figured the first three groups would be considered fowlers, and the last two the best, which was mostly true.
I’m going to pick up some more Federal GMM, CCI green tag and standard target and take them out to 100yds to see which holds up at a little more distance.
Overall I am very pleased with the rifle and am excited to use it for shooting my local rimfire benchrest matches.

Were the FTEs maybe more related to certain manufacturer cartridges than others?
It seemed about even between CCI and RWS, I don’t remember any Federal having issues. I’ll keep an eye on that next time.
I can’t say for sure without seeing the rifle, but I would look at the extractor. Pull the extractor. Put a piece of 320 grit sand paper on a hard flat surface and deburr both sides of the extractor. Make sure the pin hole is also clean. Reassemble and put a few drops of oil on the extractor.
My guess is there is a burr of metal that is causing the extractor to bind.
I finally got around to modifying my T3 KRG Bravo to suit the T1x.
Pictures should explain it, but it involved a short head cap screw for the magazine well, drilling/counterboring 2x holes in the top of the Chassis to suit M3 screws (will probably change them to hex drive pan head - zinc philips were all I had on hand).
Drill and Tap M3 into the trigger guard due to the existing screw no longer being used.
Remove/Drill/Mill/File material to allow for Plastic Tab on Magazine and Cap screw.
I've checked it all assembled and can still use the T1x magazine with the AICS mag lever in place. The bottom rear of the magazine presses against it, but it means I can swap a T3/T3x and T1x in the one stock. I did make the Thru-holes a little bigger so the 2x M3 screws can slide a little back and forth to get the right tension when using AICS magazines still (original screw did the same).
Next up will be a Sterk handle and shroud

A mate and I shot in a 22 PRS style match yesterday.
I used my CZ452 American and he used my 16" T1x.
The practical accuracy of both rifles was much the same, was never a limiting factor for the whole match.
Both rifles handle well and general ergonomics were both similar.
Where the Tikka proved its worth was in the speed stages, where the short throw bolt made working the action lightning fast. The CZ bolt lift has always been annoying in the sense of the minimal clearance from the scope eye piece. The ability to change the pistol grip in the factory stock is also a great feature for the T1x.

How's the eye box at 15x compared to the eye box @ 15x on the Ares 4.5-27? It seems like if they weigh the same, and you don't really need 2.5, then why not just go with 4.5-27?

No experience with cz but I have the savage and tikka. Tikka is much better fit and finish all around. Savage bolt has much more slop. The tikka won't eject, though. At first, most cases turned 180 degrees and laid in the ejection port. Now they seem to get stuck in the extractor. When I swap bolts with my 22, ejection is almost 100%. If I get this problem fixed the tikka will be great.
A friend has a savage, it doesn't feed well and is inaccurate.
Cal Ranch had a sale last weekend on a Rossi bolt action with scope for $179. The barrel was a thin profile and the tupperware stock was touching the barrel. The trigger and feel of the action wasn't bad at all. I'm trying to avoid a project so I didn't take a chance on it.
Cz's have been known for reliable function and except for the occasional dud in the accuracy department is probably the best choice, although I hope the 457 is ejecting okay.
My first choice was Tikka, that's out because of the reports of function problems, maybe next year when they get it sorted out.
I don't like the plastic frame on the Ruger precision and the rifle feels cheap, plus my friends 22 has ejection problems.
My favorite has always been Anschutz but I don't want to spend that kind of money on one for a 17hmr. If money were no object it'd be a 1727F!!!!!!
I have an opportunity locally to get a M77-17. I had one before with few complaints but the guy wants more for this plain one than I payed for the heavy varmint version back when 17 hmr came out. This rifle is not made anymore so it's a collectors item and higher prices followed.
The T-bolt is interesting.
Cz 457 is winning out so far for me.
I have a question, I am considering buying a Tikka T1x for practice and was hoping I would be able to swap it out with my Tikka 3x CTR that I use for PRS that way I am practicing with the same scope and stock at least. Is this possible?
Any chance you could take a pic with the mag in from the bottom so we can see how much room there is?
Has anyone looked at modifying the bolt stop to increase the allowed travel of the bolt to better match the length of throw of the T3x/CTR/TRG? I don't have access to mine right now to see if this even makes sense. I had a Ruger Precision Rimfire last year and it has a clip you can remove from the bolt to change the bolt throw to match the Ruger Precision Rifle. That is a great feature for anyone that is using their RPR as a trainer and was easily the best part of a lackluster rifle.
If the T1x could modified to do this by changing the bolt stop the way the T3 converts between long and short action it would be nice bonus feature.

Most T3x stocks should fit on the T1x, although some made need a little modification to fit the magazine housing.
So yes, you should be able to have a T1x and T3x that look and function exactly the same.

I forgot to say my CTR is in the KRG Bravo stock and that is what I was hoping to swap out.
Anybody hear if grayboe is actually going to release more tikka stocks this summer? I'm getting impatient......

The magazine well will likely foul with the bedding of the Bravo, but plenty of folk have made them fit buy removing some material.
I believe KRG is working on a specific T1x chassis, but may pay to confirm that with them.

Beat me to it. Just saw an in stock alert email. Have a Sako Green Bravo on its way to me. Also on the order list for a Sterk swept handle. That will be all the mods until my suppressor clears and I can get some solid time with the rifle.

Thanks @JSchell1309 - @poke_53 because t3 and t1x parts are both being made, the machining is still going, its week 2 of 3. There will be a week to follow machining which is the finishing processes (bending, polishing, blast, cerakote) lots of individual pieces.

Ordered a KRG Bravo chassis in FDE yesterday. ?
Sako Green version ordered from my Smith yesterday as well. I’m stoked
I got to shoot a T1X today. My buddy bought one and put a 3-9x40 Leupold on it. The action and trigger aren't as good as my CZ457, but it showed some serious accuracy potential. Shot several 1/2" groups @ 50yds with CCISV. The action might break in a little, but even adjusting the trigger all the way down it was heavy. I told him he needed a YoDave spring or something.

Howdy Gents... I actually picked up one of these T1x preowned today, was curious if anyone has tried either the Area419 or Murphy Precision Mounts? Also, I have a Bravo Chassis on my T3, so am considering that chassis for this but am curious about the Mag function on that. I read through a ton of the posts to see if I could answer these questions, but was not all that productive. Thanks in advance!

I think you can use a T3 Bravo chassis w/ some minor clearance work. Or just buy the T1x chassis they offer. It's back in stock for now.
Howdy Gents... I actually pick up one of these T1x preowned today, was curious if anyone has tried either the Aria
Ha! I keep hearing that, the dude I got it off of had tried 4 different SV rounds through it (almost 200 rounds) and just did not like how it shot he claims. He posted it in my local Missouri Club Forum so I grabbed it up. I brought it home, removed the stock to fit it better along with cleaned it before tossing some glass on it and out the door to shoot it.

What about the action on CZ felt better? I've not had a chance to try out the new 457 but my T1x is a huge improvement over my CZ 452.
The T1 factory trigger should adjust down to 2lb, not what most would consider heavy.
