The Commies are gaining power. Sooner or later we will get a real AWB that doesn't sunset

    But seriously,
Buy now in quantity. Election panic has not set in yet. Lowers, uppers, and ammo.
Remember, sharing is caring, so get enough to “spread the wealth”. Although I don’t think that is exactly what Obama meant...

I prefer these myself. Less paper trail.

I prefer things like this------> HA + B → BH+ + A− <------- (an the stronger the better) no paper trail at all. Plus can be had from most homes, Walmart, Lowes, Convenience stores an many other points of resupply when time is short. Guns draw to much attention, be creative an think out of the box,... Remember what you can't see, smell, or taste can kill you.

I would be looking towards the 2024 elections when I'm pretty sure there is a really good chance the Stupid Traitorous Republicans will have set the stage for a complete Communist take over (thinking they will get a part of the action), and they are going to go for the whole lot in one big go.
possibly with registration followed shortly by confiscation, possibly just straight making stuff illegal.

They are probably also going to tighten up parts hugely as well.

I'm not sure having a bunch of lowers will put you in any better case.
Considering that you can buy entire ARs for the $400+ range, I'd suggest that you just stock up on more complete rifles.
Since it's in for a penny, in for a pound, might as well have the whole pound.

Also just for fun, I'd make sure to purchase as many cheap used ARs as possible (where the original owner doesn't know you, like at a gun shop used etc.), because tracking them down is going to be a lot more work.

This is why they are pushing for "universal background checks" Specifically because that is their back door to universal gun registration.

It’s important to remember that no matter the time period, there’s always folks that want to tell you what to do, what you can have, where you can live, etc.

It’s a surefire way to get on a lot of folks’ fighting side and get them breaking shit.

In honour of this thread, I went and checked out what I could get at the local gun store today.

So $45 for the cheapest lower (cheaper than online after you factor in buy, ship & FFL transfer fee)

Or $350 for this complete ready to go kit that you could hand off with some ammo to a local freedom fighter
So it was no contest what was better to stock up on:

When the night to bury your weapons comes, the dawn to dig them up has passed.

Always have a plan B to keep the hope of freedom alive.

Many times in history, people fighting for freedom have lost and a small underground had to keep the hope for freedom / keep the pressure for freedom up for many years till the time was right again for the flame of freedom to ignite. Many times the weapons were almost more valuable than the people. A well placed pistol here and there or a bit of chemistry class, or a couple rifles at just the right places, or just keeping the talk about freedom going made a big difference.

The Irish lost plan A and had to spend a long time before plan B worked, but it eventually sort of worked out.
There was a significant underground in Soviet communist countries trying to keep a bit of things alive till the communists fell under the weight of their own system. The Polish and Ukrainians were an example.
(Insert old Ukrainian joke here where the little girl wonders why grandfather waters the flowerbeds with motor oil).

Or for example a lot of the "resistance" movements in Europe under National Socialist occupation.

    I have three of these...

I suggest matched sets upper and lower,

    And two of these....Billet.

Just hadn’t figured out what to build with them yet.

You should get some ARs as well
    AR = America
    AK = Communists

Not that you can't also use AKs to kill Communists for fun, but if you only have AKs, then you know......
Statistically, AK's have killed a lot more communists through history than AR's. One of the many reasons communism is such a terrifying disease. They start systematically killing their own as soon as they are in power, if not before.

If a Communist kills other Communists does anyone care? It's kind of like if a tree falls in the woods and nobody is around, does it make a sound.

Negative. AKs are a commie/bad guy rifle and you are more likely to be shot if that is what you Re carrying

I would probably also add, there is a good possibility that in the dark, there are probably a lot of folks who spent time in harm's way that will instinctively be on greater edge hearing AK fire than AR fire based on experiences of AK being "unfriendly fire".

ARs are also cheaper usually these days than the AKs
A Soviet made SKS will sell for more than an entry level AR15 if it's nice and matching.

In bad times a AR15 will probably be easier to feed unless the UN sends over a bunch of Commies to help the local commies here, in which case, use your AR15 to kill a bunch of commies and take all their AKs as needed.

Most people dont start out communist, a country is taken over from within by a communist minority, the communists then kill off the well educated, the dissenters, the non-party people, democide is the term.

I always love the infamous AK vs AR/M16/M4 debate. However, where the fuck is this myth coming from that all AKs have worse accuracy than a smoothbore musket? I can easily hit a human sized target at 100 yards with the open sights and stretch it out to 200 with a 4x scope. Sure the grouping looks more like a shotgun pattern, but still I can hit the target. The AK47 was never built for accuracy just like the M16 and M4 weren't either. They were all built for suppressive fire just like every machine gun in history. That's where the problem with the AR platform is. It's trying to do way too many things and become a universal gun. That's not how it should work. When something is fucked up in our house and we go to our toolbox, we get the proper tool for the job. We don't grab an ice pick to use as a screwdriver or grab a hammer to use as a saw. We get the proper tool. I'm no Marine nor do I claim to be, but I have NEVER heard of a Marine Sniper who pops heads at 1,000+ yards with a fucking AR.

How much in tools and expertise is required to finish out an 80% lower? I would like more AR's but want the best bang for my buck with the following precedence of criteria: reliability >durability >accuracy >cost

Not sure if I should just buy complete weapons or build them out. Goal would be to keep each rifle under $500 so I have coin to "buy more ammo"

The reason for the 80% lowers is to avoid a paper trail (however best make sure there is not a paper trail to your 80% lower purchase). Or for those in communist controlled states that want to take their freedom back.

Best bang for the buck for bulk stockpiling in my opinion is deals on used ARs that folks are looking to get rid of.
Then you can build your own pretty cheaply from parts if you want a bunch that are all the same, or built right the way you want them.
However right at the $500 mark there is also a lot of entry level factory options. probably not as good as what you can build for less, but still a good option for folks with less skills but more money.

I'd suggest that reliability and durability will be pretty good unless you get/build some junk, when comparing basic entry level milspec builds.
