Best 6.5 Prc Barrel

I wasn't going to go this way but my current 6.5s don't like the new 150+ bullets. So what have the 6.5 Prc guys seen as far as the best barrels...

I love Krieger, and proof. Don't get me wrong, there are a few more outstanding brands out there but I have amazing results from these two.

IMO Cut rifled and whatever brand your Smith gets you a deal on. Krieger, bartlein, brux,proof, benchmark, rock, doesn’t matter

I was figuring 1:8 because I plan on pushing a higher node. Is there substantial proof that 1:7.5 is better at 150+ grains? Like to know...

Sierra is well known to be full of shit. Check out 300Blk and many other calibers...I've actually had the least stabilization issues with Sierra yet all they can say is that you will have problems. Alanteans...

To make that blow softer I will allow that in the low volume cartridges that might hold. However at 3000 plus velocity I see no reason a 1:8 wont work.

I haven’t loaded for it personally but that seems awful fast for that bullet.

Bartlein 1-7 is the ticket. I have close to 700 rounds w 3 different bullets. Those Sierra 150 are finicky!

Really any high end barrel will do fine. Krieger, Bartlein, Hawk Hill, Muelerworks, Rock Creek, etc.

1-1k stability is one thing and transonic stability is another. You have to ask yourself what’s its intended purpose? Hunting or 1 mile plus comp?

How many people building 6.5 PRC just want to point shoot 1k or less like in George Gardner's Hornady video versus 2k yards? My guess is the later group isn't starting threads like this.

Apparently 7.5tw is the minimum for 150SMK all the way up 3100fps and twist rate calculators are incorrect. 7tw may be better. There's a lengthy discussion on Accurate Shooter regarding 6.5-284 with 150SMK and 8tw was not enough.
