I’ve got a Tikka SA chassis sitting around just waiting for an action/barrel. I’ve grown an interest to 7mm SAUM, mostly due to West Dessert Shooter’s videos but am wondering if there’s something better out there in short action that can go a similar distance (2k yards). Already have a 6+6.5 creedmoor so I want something different. Any suggestions?

The MAX cartridges will be great in a tikka since it's more of a medium action anyways
for SA magnums , the 6.5 SAUM, 7 SAUM, and 300WSM are hard to beat.
the 6.5 PRC is good option if you don't reload.
for 2K, probably better to look at LA magnum stuff, so you can run the super high/heavy BC 7mm and 30 cal bullets

You have a short action. And a tikka doesnt do long actions like a 300PRC or 7/300PRC unless your single feeding.Heck yea I reload
That's why the Sherman's are so attractive in a short action
You are limited to COAL with the Tikka action when it comes to a true LA caliber. Stick with a short mag and use a long action bolt stop and long action mags to make use of the powder capacity in a short mag case. The 190 class 7mm bullets are hard to beat for long range.
