Is it feasible, or has anyone considered the idea of offering a retrofit or drop in cocking piece for M700 and the like actions (.700 Bolt body dia) that features a roller ball/bearing like the older BAT actions and Curtis actions?

Not sure if the smaller bolt body diameter and thinner cocking ramp would make it unlikely, but i thought I’d survey the crowd...

For what purpose? If it would be to lighten the bolt lift, I don't think it's necessary in a 90 degree bolt throw action. Joel Russo was addressing a characteristic of a 60 degree bolt throw when he incorporated the roller bearing in the Vector/Axiom cocking piece.

I have four BAT two-lug actions and, contrary to opinions above, saw a great improvement in them by adding the roller cocking piece. Now, let me clarify. For BR, where the rifle staying constant in the rest/bags is imperative, the roller on a two-lug does benefit. For a PRS or hunting rifle in two-lug maybe not so much. I own a Vector also and can say the roller is quite nice when compared to other three-lugs I own or have owned.

I don't even understand what you're talking about. Can you post a pic of a "roller ball cocking piece"?
It rolls instead of drags for less friction.

I was just thinking of doing this to my tempest. I like the action as is, but lightening/smoothing the cocking effort would be the bees knees. Surprised this isn’t done more in general.
