What is the best oil to use on maintaining this sling for my M40 build, it is very dry....

I am assuming you are speaking about the leather Model 1907 sling...MRT refers to mildew resistant treatment and was applied to leather and canvas web slings.
I use Turner Saddlery Military Leather Dressing or Skidmore’s Leather Cream on my Turner and Les Tam slings.

Turners also sells Pecards leather dressing for antique leather. Depending on how old and cracked your sling is Pecards might be the thing to use.
I like Pecards, its a great grease.
Dont go too heavy with whatever you use - treat, dont soak.

I bought a 1/2 gallon bucket of that stuff early 90s when I got a set of Roper boots while on a MC trip out to Nebraska. It looks to be not only a leather treatment but a possible substitute for peanut butter.
It worked, kept a lot of my leather supple.
I still have the Roper boots 30 years on and still wear them. They get a regular dose of Pecards or Limmer Boot grease these days though.

If you want to darken it use several thin coats of pure Neatsfoot Oil. Wipe off excess and allow to dry several hours in between coats. Some will tell you that Neatsfoot Oil can damage the threads but I haven't found this to be a problem and if this ever does happen I'm handy enough with a needle and thread to restitch it.
Neatsfoot oil will work, but it will also darken leather. So be aware of that if you don't want the color to change. Pecards will not change the color.
I use mink oil, light coat. Reapply the next day if needed, don't go apey as too much will make the leather stretch easier and you don't want that when you sling up during a shoot.
I have also used wood stain to darken leather and then apply neetsfoot or mink, same process.
