I have a kn203fab that I am having issues with shifting poi when I adjust focus at varying distances. I had a guy check the unit out and can’t find anything wrong with it. Collimation is true throughout the entire unit including the prism system. Also no lenses appeared to be loose. After some thought, it hit me that since I use the Simrad focus to get a clear image at any distance, I never adjusted the scope parallax for the correct distance. Do y’all think this may have been the issue? The only thing the guy said he could think of if the issue was in the Simrad unit was if someone possibly changed the tube out with the wrong type (flat or rounded). I have a nice unit with fantastic image that I can’t use right now...talk to me Simrad guys!

I’ve had a few of these things apart and I don’t see how the parallax and focus system could cause a POI shift as long as it’s working. Also not possible it’s another tube unless someone completely jerry rigged it and which point it would be noticeable in wiring looking right through the front of the lens. Not sure how anyone could even do that anyway.

I would start by troubleshooting the entire rifle system alone and then your mount. As mentioned a laser is a good way to run through stuff and see what’s moving.

The rifle shoots lights out without the Simrad. No movement with parallax adjustments or anything. When the Simrad unit is on, I set it in a lead sled and set the reticle on a target at 100yds. Without moving the rifle, I can adjust the focus and noticeably the reticle will move vertically on target. It’s hard to tell exactly how much because the image is out of focus when setting the focus to a farther distance but the reticle appears to move around 10+-MOA. It’s substantial. One of my buddies is letting me put his DBAL on it and I’ll try to post a video of it will let me of the image shift.
