Suppressors Check still not cashed....

I finally purchased my first suppressor back in September. Found a deal at gander outdoors that I could not pass up. Paid for, paperwork and check wrote for September 9. Fast forward to now and my check is still not cashed. From reading this seems like an anomaly. Is this normal? And how should I proceed?

As I said the paperwork was submitted to the dealer in sept 9th. I’m going to call and make sure it didn’t end up in a desk somewhere, but it’s frustrating as it seems like my wait time will be even longer with looking out to 2 months just to cash the check.

Any insight is appreciated.

The application and check go to a bank first, where the check gets immediate cashed. To me, no check cashed means nothing was ever received. You need to be making some calls, first to Gander, then to the ATF.

Gander said they shipped it on the 9th after I submitted everything.

Tried the atf but was too late, I’ll have to try them again.

I hope the mail service used didn’t lose my form 4 along with the rest of my stuff.

Well the package apparently never made it to the bank. ATF recommended I fill out and send in another form 4. Pretty ticked my info is lost in the mail. Guess I’ll start the process again once my hunt is done in November

Registered receipt so you will know when they actually received it, the green card will come back to you.

Then up to 2 weeks for check to be cashed after receipt of all paperwork.

After check is cashed time clock starts.

I’ll be damn, check was cashed today, must have been on that truck.

Sucks mu wait times starts now that I’m almost 2 months in, but at least my info isn’t floating around out in USPS land.

That’s everyone, sounds like I dodged a bit of a headache. Lesson learned, make sure to ship it with tracking.

Sounds to me like Gander was full of shit. You talk with them about the status of your check and they realized it was sitting on a shelf in the storeroom. They sent your check in after you caught their mistake...

Was thinking that as well. Next time I think I’ll go with a more reputable NFA dealer, but I just couldn’t say no to a suppressor over 50% off.
