I got a lead on Winchester .45 ACP for 40% off at Walmart. Should I buy it all?

I will need to be able to flip it reasonably fast becuase I only have 9mm handguns.

You could just tell them about the deal. Hell, maybe if they want it but are to far away you could grab it for them. If your trying to make a profit off of it yes you’re an asshole. Already a story near me of a gun store that came in and cleared out a Walmart with these clearances, they need to make a living but seriously?

Based on a different post I stopped by my local Walmart yesterday to see what they had on sale...
They had it marked down but was still more expensive that what I can get online...
Guess they figured they dont need to really mark it down much in a gun friendly state...

The marked price isn’t the sale price, have them scan one of there’s any left. I was walking out with Winchester 9mm for $0.085, .40 for $0.15, and federal 55grn 556 for $0.16.

While I want to agree with you, the rumor is they’re “donating” all the evil ammo to local PDs at the end of the month if it doesn’t sell. They are doing is a favor in this particular case.

You’re looking out for you, if that makes you feel good knock yourself out. If you’re so confident you can flip it, that means you know who needs/wants it and you’re willing to take advantage of that. Hope your friends treat you better.
Yeah, Wal-mart is putting most/all of their pistol ammo on clearance now. One of my local stores had it all at 50-75% off, but the other store only had it marked down about 10% from regular prices, so YMMV. I bought a ton of 357, 38spl, 9mm, and 45 stuff. I went back to the sporting goods in such a hurry that I forgot to grab a cart. Leaving was less than fun, but I was giddy as I was stashing away $1000 in ammo that I spent about $300 on. 150 round packs of 9mm white box for $12, TulAmmo .223 at $2.50/box, etc. Pretty great deal.
Walmart has been doing the sale prices for 2 or 3 days depending on stores on their pistol and angry black gun ammo. Lots of deals to be found. I stocked up on lots of goodies. You can use brickseek or dexters to find what your local stores have. Most places were picked clean yesterday in my area. The 9mm ammo was 60% off so I couldn't even buy just the bullets that cheap to reload. Lots of defense ammo for sale also. Most in my area was $9 per 200 for brass 9mm and $8 per 200 aluminum cased. .223 was around .14 per while .40 and .45 where $5 per 50
I really hate Wal-mart, but if they're caving to political nonsense and they're basically giving their stock away, I'll go in and snag what I'll use and giggle like a little girl on my way out.
Some random dude picking up cheap ammo at the local Wally World is far from "profiteering". There's no shortage and nobody is any less than without it. So, fuck off, you sound like a commie. All he's doing is the same thing any other "retailer" is doing except he's not following the "normal" chain of distributorship. He's being entrepreneurial and taking chances.
Buying all the generators from Home Depot during a hurricane is profiteering. And it's illegal. What he's doing is not.

My store yesterday had some deals and I picked some up but not all of it was marked down. Some 223 was down to $.17/rd but it was sitting next to other 223 that was $.29 so I grabbed what was left that was cheap and some of the 3ooBLK was cheap so that's what I got the most of. I'll go back today and see if the rest of 223 is marked down yet.
Go buy it, then go buy some .40 and .45 caliber handguns and then keep it all.

You'll be competing with the lowest price store on the internet that accepts credit cards and offers free shipping.
Shipping is going to be more expensive than you think, it's easy to forget when you are on the receiving end and think "free shipping! Nice!" but when you are on the side of having to send, it's a whole different game, especially if you are not a regular shipper with discounts pre-negotiated.
Also there is a reason your local Communist Mart still has .40 and .45 left, Those who are way ahead of you in the buying to flip market, don't want it because it sells too slowly.
In my case I refuse to give Communist Mart any money if I can help it & will pay more at my LGS or online just to spite Communist Mart, however others may not be in a position to have that luxury and having ammo beats not having ammo, even if you had to help Communists a bit to get it.

I bought a bunch of brass 45 for $0.18, alum for $0.14, fed hydra shok for $0.45 and some 38spl and 45colt. Someone called asking about 45acp while I was waiting. Left him 2 or 3 100rd boxes of alum for $0.15. Same ammo I bought in 50rd boxes for $0.14. ???
