Went to the gun store in VA over the weekend and the shelves were nearly bare. Three people came in looking for 9mm while I was standing there but the store was sold out.

We also had a gun show at Dulles and a friend who went said the lines were around the entire convention center and they gave up trying to get in. Several other friends who had little interest in guns are suddenly calling me asking for advice on which gun to buy.

So yes - guns and ammo are selling like hotcakes here in Virginia and its not likely to change soon.

I have heard similar conversations. Virginia starts to see organized confiscation this shit could get real. I don't see it happening, they'll back down.

I wouldn't count on that. They're talking about adding a lot to the budget for prisons for offenders, and 18 new State Troopers for enforcement. They know they aren't the ones that will have to kick in the doors, they'll pay lackey's for that...

I'm thinking even if they do increase the funds for housing inmates, eventually they are going to run out of prisons to house them. And who's going to build them a new prison? Not the gun owners in VA.

I disagree alot of good people will die , if your against the Republic and Constitution then your not a good person. This republic was born by way of the musket and the only reason it was born , it has remained free only because of arms. Wondering about the rationale for hiring just 18 more troopers to “enforce” these proposed gun laws? What exactly are these new troopers expected to do in this context? Are they to go around confiscating everyone’s guns while the rest of the state police enforce other laws, BAU?

If so, would seem they will need a few orders of magnitude more troopers, unless these 18 will be super troopers....If that’s the number being put out there it seems awful low, unless I’m misinterpreting something or its disinformation being spread by Northam...

I would think that IF this Bill becomes law, it will IMMEDIATELY be appealed. It will be ordered to not be enforced while under appeal. It will go through a few courts without resolution. This will take at least a year or more. If it's not struck down at some point, there will be bloodshed. Hell, MD had their Red Flag law in affect for 2 weeks before a cop shot a homeowner over a firearm. Turned out, a family member got made at him and pulled this crap. If a Red Flag law can get ya killed, you know somewhere, somehow, someone in VA is going to get killed. Law enforcement or patriot (citizen), I don't know.

He replied that he didn't want to sign any paperwork (4473). That's understandable but what gets me about people like this is that they expect me to sell them a gun at a reduced price because it is used.

Yet they say they don't want to have any paper trail of their purchase. My friend has a squeaky clean record. So NICS would not be a problem.

Nevertheless, he expects me to sell him one of my rifles at a previously-owned and reduced price. Since there isn't any paperwork involved, I ought to be able to charge full retail or more than that.

I wonder how many of these panic buyers are expecting to get reduced prices on mint condition firearms from the original owners.

Sorry for the rant but these panic buyers are probably the very same people that sat on their collective asses on election day then bitch about the leftists in power taking their rights away.

Same here. I priced a S&W MP 15/22 to a co-worker at a reasonable price with 5 extra mags. I got the old " I can get it from xyz.com
for that" My reply was get one from there, and go be poor somewhere else.
