Good evening, I have recently purchased a sauer 100 classic and also a Quigley ford scope. Before I can get the scope I need to choose what manufacture and grain round I will use, so they can make the scope to the gun and round. I am new to shooting rifle especially long distance. I will be hunting deer with this rifle and I'd also like to take it to the range every now and then and try my luck at some distances as far as 600 yards. I guess my question is, what manufacture and grain would you suggest to kinda bridge the gap between hunting and distance shooting if possible? Thanks

I’ve used hornady 143 eldx on whitetail, and usually use 147 eldm or 153 a-tips for steel, I’ve also used the 140 eldm, my rifle seems to like the heavier 147-153 projectiles. I’d suggest buying a few boxes of what you plan to use and go shoot and see what you prefer or shoots the best for you.

Sell scope and buy something else and not a burris eliminator like my buddies brother with the quigley. He was so inept he paid me to zero his scopes and get real dope on them.
