If Tikka would offer the CTR model in some magnum flavors they would crush it. Simple as a 7 rem mag or 300 win mag would suffice. Ever better offer something new like the 300 prc or 7 saum or even the noslers. Come on Tikka.

Edit: Just got off the phone with the Dallas Beretta flagship store and they can't even order it in. He says that they let him bring in special order (as in not normally imported) Sakos but not Tikkas.

Anything with MTB at the end is a non US stock number. At least that is what I was told by Euro Optic. Tikka's website has alot of non US order-able guns.
I put a question about that on Tikka's Facebook. Not sure who and where will see the question, so answering might take time???

What are you finding/liking as far as OAL? Putting bullets close to the lands, or a jump?
I’m getting started reloading for the Tikka, and have worked up with a gage all the max OAL for my bullets where they touch the lands, and am surprised that the factory ammo I am shooting (well!) has quite a jump.
I know I need to try some different values and see for myself, but just curious what others have found on this.

Depending very much the bullet you use.
Lapua 123gr Scenar COL 70,8mm, 2mm off the lands shoot very well, 0 3 MOA 100-meters 5-shot.
Sierra MK 140gr need to be just a tiny bit off the lands after it does work.
I have found that Lapua Scenar work very well on TAC A1 6.5CM.
123gr and 130gr L scenar too.
139gr Scenar i have not tested much yet.

I have been running all of my 140g / 142g bullets 0.020” off the lands just so I have that for consistency. between the different bullets. It’s a distance that I have used with other barrels and it seemed to work well.
I’m using non-binder plate MDT AICS mags, so I have the room for the increased OAL.
The Petersen SRP brass I’m using has a bit less case capacity, so loading long gives a little bit of capacity back.
Not saying it'll never happen, but it'd require a big re-design by Tikka, the CTR magazine is the limiting factor, so a new longer CTR magazine.
Admittedly their are 300wm and 338lm magazines for the TRG42 that Tikka could copy, but I imagine most of the folk buying the TAC A1/CTR are more interested in the short action cartridges that dominate the PRS scene.
Tikka do produce magnum and short magnum versions of their Varmint and Super Varmint rifles, it's probably Beretta USA that just doesn't import them.
There is/was the counter on the Tikka website for the 20th of February, perhaps something will be announced then??
Long time lurker on these forums first time posting, I am a Tikka fan as well. I'm in Canada so am automatically envious of most of your gun laws in the free states. Looking to get into PRS this year and also start contributing to these forums. Some pics below of a recent run at our local range.
Rifle is a TAC A1 in 308, load I am running in it is 43.5 grains of Varget in Lapua brass with CCI BR2 primers and 185 Grain Berger Juggernauts sitting 5 thou off the lands. Was previously running 15 thou off the lands and results were not as good as in the picture below. Muzzle brake is a Heathen from Insite Arms.
Planning a few more upgrades to the rifle including a Sterk AI style swept bolt handle and maybe a different chassis setup but undecided on that.

My ACC is on the way. Glad to see the tikka MDT combo is a tack driver.
Anyone have a CDI LA DBM they don’t need? Found a stock inletted for the CDI and would make life easy if I could track one down. Otherwise I’m gonna have to space out and bed in another brand of LA DBM.
Why did you switch from the W3? I’ve been curious about dropping my CTR in one as it’s in a Bravo right now (which I like a lot).
Factory 260rem Tikka barrel had counterclokwise spiral fluting.
It took off 200g of the weight, bolt had also deeper cut spiral fluting.
Next stop to cerakote.

At which velocities or with which load do you run the 140 ELD-M?
The adjustability is the biggest difference over the Bravo that the barred action was in.
The ability to make minute adjustments to the cheek riser to get your eye dead square in the scope eye box every time is much improved over the Bravo. Then the adjustments to the buttpad and LOP that aren’t spacer based.
Add in the integrated ARCA rail and all the M-Loc slots allow a lot of flexibility.
Once you use a bipod / clamp on an ARCA rail you’ll understand why it’s become such a popular system.
Well initially I was going to put it in a matrix as MPA had just released it but they wouldn’t email me back with a lead time and I had just sold the w-3 to fund that. I went with a mpa comp ba from another hide member. All in all I just wanted to try something different. I have zero complaints about the W-3 and would definitely own another one.
That was the main reason I bit the bullet and went with this chassis. The bravo is such a compelling buy at the price. But It’s nice to have the MDT purchase validated. The worst part is waiting for all the stuff to get here to complete the build.

Extremely reliable and user configurable to 4-6oz. Would be a huge success in tikka also
I tried to feed some of my 22BR rounds out of my CTR magazines. It would need a custom follower and spacer kit. I went with AICS for CTR inlet Mountain Tactical bottom metal and use the MDT 12 found mags made for BR/Dasher and the same mags with kits in them.
I have been getting around 2860 fps with the 143 ELD-X which should be nearly the same as the 140 M's. Using 43g. of RL16 with no pressure signs. Laupua brass and CCI 450 mg. primers. Mine is not a CTR but a Tac A1 which I believe is the same set up.

I was loading my 143ELDX load with a OAL of 2.825” for my Tac A1. Played around with OAL and everything around the above length shot really well.

I had a live accidental discharge while hunting.
After taking this stock apart and looking at it closer the allen screw that holds the trigger mechanism to the action had slightly come loose which then allowed the safety to move enough to somehow engage the sear. Just wanted to throw this out there, not sure anyone has run across it before, but owners and Tikka should definitely know this could happen and luckily this time the bullet went into the ground and not somebody or something unintentionally.

Have you changed your trigger spring?
Thats a large bolt that holds the trigger assembly in place and is very tight from the factory. Did you put in a lighter trigger spring and fail to tighten the hell out of the bolt like it comes from the factory? I will probably put some blue loctite on mine the next time I pull the action out of the stock just to be sure but I cranked on it pretty good. You wont strip it as it is a large allen head.
The pins that hold a Rem trigger in place seems to make this less likely to happen.

If the trigger assembly is loose on the bottom of the action, pressing down on the safety button / lever will move the assembly enough to disengage the sear in the trigger from the cocking piece, allowing the firing pin to travel forward, firing the cartridge in the camber ( If loaded with a live round )
Looks like a loose fastener issue more than a structural or design issue.
Looks like this need to be checked every time the barreled action is out and loctite isn't a bad idea on that bolt.

I have not ever put blue loctite on that bolt on any of my 3 Tikkas. Sounds like it wasn't tightened and that caused the AD, not anything with the trigger itself.
you guys are correct, ensure that allen screw is tight or this could happen.
I adjusted my CTR trigger on my Tikka to as light as I could get it, and noticed it dry firing when I slammed the bolt really hard on an empty rifle. Be careful.
You should always try banging the butt of any rifle that you adjust the trigger on before you load it and try to shoot it. Never adjusted a Tikka and had it go off on it's own, but I have heard it does happen. All 3 of mine are close to 1 lb.
Anyone know the price (street or MSRP) of the T3X UPR? Can’t seem to find much info about it yet, even on Tikka’s website.
I think the main differences are the size of the ejection port ( Larger ), metal bolt shroud and steel recoil log on the T3x.
Not really worth an upgrade unless you’re shooting a 30/06 or standard belted magnum sized cartridge.
So I'm indeed rocking a 30/06 in my T3. Still on the fence with working on the action or moving to the T3X. Your input helps though. May end up just changing rifles before I get too deep into this one

Weights range from 7.9 to 8.4 here. Don't know which ones are actually going to be imported. Most likely any with a serial that starts jrtx.

With msrp at 1500, I wonder if street will be low enough that it will be a wash to get a CTR + KRG bravo.
differences that i know of (i have a t3x and my cousin has the t3) are in the plastic stock, recoil lug and bolt shroud. if there are others they are well hidden.
