Has anyone mounted an Atlas bipod (specifically a CAL) on a KRG Bravo chassis? If so, what accessory did you use to mount it? i.e. accessory rail, ARCA mount, etc.

How do you guys find the minimalist? Is it still plenty reachable from prone? Is the standard Atlas length still good to go or would you go with the tall version? How low does ths bore end up in relation to the bipod?

As you can tell, this is on my mind too.

I’m 6’3” and it’s out there quite a bit. I just get it level, lock it in, and forget it for the most part. It’s at the very end of my reach while in the prone position. But I like it lot. Getting the Bipod out front about another 4 or 5 inches helps me with stability.

Atlas PSR on KRG spigot mount with aluminum L2 rail; I'm using the KRG ARCA rail for a heavy barricade stop on an ARCA clamp for balance besides its original function, and to attach to a tripod via ARCA ballhead when desired.

I´m jumping in here.

I want to add a spigot mount to my KRG Bravo and want to mount my Atlas CAL 2 there.

Which spigot mount should I choose?
Can I mount the Bipod (with Pcatinny rail adapter) directly to one of the spigot mounts, or do I need another adapter therefore?

minimalist spigot with the aluminum m2 rail.

I got the regular spigot, mounted a KRG L2 aluminum Picatinny rail on it for the Atlas ADM quick release, and a QD mount plate on its left for the sling QD connector; that way I was able to put a Magpul 7-slot aluminum rail on each side of the forend for a level and maybe a dry fire device (jury is still out on if I want to meddle with that one), and had the bottom of it available to receive the KRG ARCA rail for the ARCA clamp with heavy barricade stop.

If at any one time I decide I want a different configuration I'll change it with minimum effort and expense that's the beauty of the KRG chassis system, sort of like Lego for long range shooters. With the old McMillan it would have been sell the old one, order a new one but make sure you really know what you want, shell out the same, or more than you spent the first time, and ... w-aaaaaaaaa-iiiiiiiiiiii-t !

If you don't need all the space for other devices, or weights, and you're pretty sure you won't then I'd go with the minimalist spigot and the aluminum L2 rail. That will also save you a few bucks on top. If you decide you do want to add the QD plate later, it won't break the bank, get the new one, exchange it with the old and sell it in the PX, and it won't cost you the price of a whole new chassis and anything KRG moves faster in the PX than you can blink.

Jayjay1 to answer your question the ARCA spigot would require an ARCA clamp for the Picatinny to mount to and it would then function as its quick detach. If your Atlas is the BT__ -LW17 kind with the ADM Picatinny quick detach then you would just add an unnecessary expense and extra connection.

This works, but in case he didn't want to spend $30 on the L2 rail, the $8 polymer is working just fine for me with the Gen 2 CAL.
Or, if he wants to go the polymer route, then he can just use the free one that comes with the KRG Bravo;, if he wants any additional polymer L2 rails they go for $6.99 from KRG.

CAL, Enclosed foreend and long ARCA rail. Works fine.
I'm sure I can dig around and find it, but do you know off the top of your head how much additional length the enclose forend adds for bottom rail space? Is it comparable to the spigot/minimalist spigot? More?

I believe it is comparable to the spigot; maybe an additional 3-4" in length. With the EF you really need a wider bipod than the normal CAL, since foreend places the barrel in the upper half of it, meaning the bipod sits further away from the axis of the bore (than with just a spigot). I just got a Super CAL, and that does put the apex of the bipod legs above the bore axis.

It´s more stable when you you spigot mount.
Weight point is not so much under the rifle and you get that extra lenght, light and low power rifle movement.
Like Archimedes once sayd, Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world.
More front your bipod is, more light it is to fine tune and do movements.
That new, KRG slim model version is great of the spigot, and cheaper.
You maybe have seen these really long extension for bipod, i would not want that, but that few inch to the chassis nose is nice, that spigot gives.

That all makes perfect sense! I’m okay with mine on the forend since I’m short and wouldn’t be able to manipulate the legs easily if it was further away.

That is not wrong thing to do, it will work just fine, and save som dollars too :)
But if you want to try, you can :)
