I bought a bergara hmr pro in6.5 creedmoor back in december and want to start loading for it.
coming from a f class background i never worried about mag length as we single fed every shot. So i picked up some components and set out to doing some measurements. I seated a hornady 143 eldx long and chambered and closed the bolt to find the lands( i dont have the special brass for the comparator yet). So measuring a storebought 143 precision hunter and the one iseated with the bolt both measured to the ogive i came up with .109 difference.
does this seem excessively long to you kind folks or am i overthinking the whole thing and just need to find a load at mag length that shoots well.
thanks for any replies
