Member Link Up Central Florida Members?

Sorry for hijackin the thread. Shoulda been doing all that conversation in a pm.
Would be great if a good long range gets squared away and we can all get together for an all floirda guys shoot and meet up.

Not a hijack it's about central florida shootin! Give us a shout when down this way....have a great Thanksgiving.

Right back at ya. Leaving tomorrow night headed to a hunting trip Outside of americus ga. Hopefully all goes well and some meat in the freezer and some bones on the wall

I hear ya. Everytime i ride by a piece of property i think of how i could squeeze the most distance out it for shooting

Every time I drive the stretch of SR52 between HWY 41 and I-75 I drool at the miles of ranchland north, far as you can see. 30 years ago, I used to worry about what would happen in the event of a truck breakdown on that road; you could sit for 15 or 20 mintues without seeing another vehicle (and before cellphones lol).

I know a fellow Hider with 40acres in that area.

Anyone been to Ares?
They've just reopened, I'm thinking about checking it out over holiday break.

ETA: So, figured might hit up Manatee as well....
Now, there's a pop-up on their website that they're "reviewing the safety" of steel gongs, and are not allowing them- even at 600 yards!!

First, they shut down the 600 yard range on Saturdays for comps. They don't say it, but try to shoot at 600 on the weekdays and they'll tell ya they don't have an RSO over there, so fuck off.

What a fucking shit show that place has become. Thankfully, I hedged on actually becoming a member and just paid as a non-member. I'd be screaming for my money back.

A bunch of us are hoping Ares or JTAC gets up and running... As in every 3-Gun and PRS competitor that used to compete at Manatee. Even the F-Class has been affected. I think they permanently went to paper targets only on the berms.

For the time being we still have BPO PRS matches down south.

I went out there 2 weeks ago after they had just opened up. 3 levels of membership or can pay daily rate. Its on their website. Main range goes to 500 yards with steel at 100, 200, 300, and 400. Member only range goes out to 900, but did not see that on that day. Plan to either take a look or ask next time I go out. They were still working on setting up some pocket berms for handgun.

For those who have not been following JTAC in central FL here is an update. Emails went out last week to anyone registered with JTAC about training and opening dates. The earliest registered folks were extended a sign up email for the mandatory safety and training class. I've been emailing with them for some time and got in on the first wave of classes held last night. It's like any other safety class you have taken they just want to ensure anyone granted a membership has firearms safety skills ingrained. Had anyone had an issue I know they would have stepped in and educated, but everyone there exhibited proper handling, loading/unloading and firing procedures. Zero ego with these guys very knowledgeable and fun the kind of folks I'd invite out for a bite to eat with our crew after a day of shooting.

So that's it for now....I figured for those who are not social media types following the updates this might be helpful. Their projected opening date is May 2 so if you have an interest in getting a spot I would highly recommend doing it soon as they are capping membership at 300 for the time being. If you are not on the list please hit this link and it will take you to the 'contact us' page where you can ping them.

I contacted them again yesterday after seeing your post. I originally had said I just wanted to do the precision rifle membership but decided to go to the highest level. Hopefully I can get in some of the training classes early as well.

They said they will be doing multiple classes each week so I don't think it will be very long b/f you hear back. 7 people registered in my class they keep it small so they can get you in and out quickly.

What type of class did you take?

see my post from Sunday at 3:26 for more detail..basic firearms safety

Yeah I saw that, I thought you took another specific subject area class.

No sir just the initial required safety course so far, but will definitely be taking an array of their offerings. This is one of their primary goals is to provide a facility where people can continue to sharpen skill sets from LR to handgun to 3 gun you name it.

I sent JTAC an email inquiring about becoming a member but I would like to see the facility before joining. I still haven't heard back from them. I was going to drive down this weekend and check it out. The address on their website looks like it is to their office. Does anyone know the actual street address to the range? Thanks.

I live about 15 minutes from JTAC. You can drive over there, but the front gate will be locked and it's a 1/2 mile in from there.
Don't tresspass.
They have some pics on the website and you can also look at some stuff on Facecrap if you use it.

The main building has a foundation, but I haven't seen any thing else on its progress.

I was on site back in early November.
It's gonna be great.

Thank you for the information. Yes, I have looked at their Facecrap site, and no I don't use it or have an account. Don't want one. On their website I have clicked on the boxes at the bottom of their webpage to see the what I assume are pictures of the ranges and facilities but they don't work. I assumed since they were taking memberships that it was open. Didn't realize it wasn't. I was going to drive down this Saturday and check it out, I guess I'll put it on hold. Thanks for the information. Hope to see you there in the near future.

Looks like the main building is complete.
Also, if you zoom in where I've circled you can see the longer range berms. The top circle has three berms in it.
IIRC, the target opening date is like May 2 or 3rd. So there is time for them to get the benches, covered areas and whatnot in place.

sorry dustbun i musta missed this but yea can't go on property yet. you are not charged yet either so it's basically $65 bucks of risk to get your slot in the initial roll out of 300 members for the middle membership which will get ya on the 2k range and everything else under. when they took my cc info it says $0.00 due until May 2. hope that heps maybe see ya out there one day. sorry for horrible spelling siri hates me with a passion

That sounds like a good idea. I will do it. Hope to see you also. Thank you.

Probably just the way my card is set up. ?

That's okay with me. At least some scrub didn't cough on my Arnold Palmer. ?????? ??
That guy was such a slob he was absolutely oblivious to my reaction as he shot phlegm boogers on my cup, but then I looked at how little he gives a hoot about himself and it all made sense.

I don't remember (that's a surprise) if I told you or not. Geno said he would have punched him in the mouth and then made him buy a new drink. ???

Jtac update:
"We have been informed that we can restart safety and evaluation courses on Tuesday the 14th, provided we follow a few extra guidelines when conducting the courses. These guidelines include only 3 attendees on the range at once, wearing masks if at all possible and maintaining 6ft social distancing throughout the course. These changes may cause the course to take slightly longer than the allotted 20 minutes, but we will still be able to get prospective members through in a timely fashion.

If your course date is on or after the 14th you can keep your current reservation, however if your course was scheduled on or before the 11th you will need to contact us to reschedule. This can be done via either email or phone. Simply provide us with the name and class date of the existing registration as well as the requested class date and we will make sure you are rescheduled.

If you would like to cancel your course registration for the time being, contact us and we will refund you ASAP. All registrations that have not been rescheduled or refunded by May 2nd will be refunded on that date.

For those who may be wondering how we can operate given the current "Safer at Home Order", gun ranges, shops and manufactures are considered essential industry under the DHS Guidance On The Critical Infrastructure Workforce (Link Below). The Governor's order follows this guidance with additions."

Update: JTac is opening up membership slots. If you missed out on the first round, you may be able to obtain a slot. Membership will still be limited to 300 so now is your chance if you missed the first round.

Below is from the latest communication:
Upcoming General Signups
Up to this point membership signup access has been limited to those on our 300 person signup list, in order to give those following the project since the beginning first dibs on membership slots. This policy will change on the 25th of April and the membership signup list password protection will be removed. We are making this decision both because of the number of those on the list who have not yet signed up, and the number of new inquiries we are getting daily.

This email serves two purposes. To notify those on the list that they have two weeks before available slots are opened to those not on the list, and to notify those not on the list that these slots will be opening up.

If you are currently on the list of 300, please sign up in the next two weeks if you wish to guarantee your slot. No one will be billed until the facility is open, and you do not need to finish the safety course to sign up (Though it will need to be completed before accessing the facility).

Stay safe and we'll see you at the ranch!

I wish JTAC was more open to making the facility available for competition use (PRS, 3 gun, etc.). They seem to be focused on tactical bullshittery... They've been hosting the Tactical Games there a lot. Saw lots of pics on Instagram.

I believe they are trying to hold PRS matches there. I know some MD’s discussing that with JTAC. They just have to wait until the damn range opens up. Been here 3-yrs and it’s still not open.

Good to see you on here again.
Holy crap, was it really three years ago when we met out at the Shoot Shack?

I'll bring you as a guest if you want to shoot there. We've been passing the time by shooting golf balls on the 300 line at the Shack. Anyway, I bet that Ben would make a membership exception for you since you can't use it monthly.
Or maybe the non-resident membership might work.

Here's my cell # 813-2zero5-5four2four in case you want to get in touch with me.

Thanks. I didn’t speak to Ben, but responded back to Jon via email. He’s the one that replied to me.

Question here. How many ranges are there from central Florida to the Georgia line? Particularly longe range. Currently I'm living in Kentucky but will possibly be moving back to Florida in the next year to 18 months. I'll probably be moving to the lake city area depending on what I decide job wise. But I don't have a problem driving 3-4 hours to shoot.

The bradford range in starke is less than an hour from lake city in starke fl

It would be open if Covid hadn't made its appearance.
Based on the video from Ben the other day, maybe next month...
Nice. My new build won’t be done for about 5 more weeks. Not sure between the extended membership with 5 entries per year or the full time. About an hour away.
