Louisiana prisoner rights advocates are urging officials to release some inmates before it's too late — in particular those with underlying health issues who don't pose a significant risk to public safety.
The Louisiana affiliate of the American Civil Liberties Union released a statement Thursday demanding expedited parole hearings for elderly inmates and the immediate release on "humanitarian parole" for the almost 9,000 people in immigration detention in Louisiana.
"Immediate steps must be taken to safeguard the health and well-being of incarcerated people across the state," ACLU of Louisiana Executive Director Alanah Odoms Hebert said. "We know that confining people in close quarters increases the risk of infection, but right now, thousands of Louisianians are incarcerated based on the mere accusation of a crime and an inability to pay bail."

My wife wanted me to go food shopping with her since she heard there is a bunch of craziness. Market is slammed. Good supply of fresh items. Dried goods are a bit in demand. No toilet paper, bleach or disinfectant wipes.
Bought dried peas and ham shanks for split pea soup, meat for chili, pork and hominy for Posole soup. I have a busy weekend of cooking

It's funny when someone so easily dismisses what someone goes through. How would you know? How would I know what you have been through? Tell me about the worst I have felt? I am interested to hear the stories you have about me. Here, I will expand the words a little so you can re-judge my experience.........
I have had 12 kidney stones removed out of me and deal with them back to back everyday, I know a little about discomfort. I broke my neck in 2007 on an ATV. I had some brass go through my upper left thigh from some guy (That I actually felt bad for) at the range that shot the table top and metal leg on the table while accidentally puling the trigger while setting his pistol down. When I say this is the worse I have felt ever, then you can use those items for comparison if you want. Then again, maybe you enjoy Kidney Stones? How would I know? I could not get up, couldn't breathe, lungs full, the worse part was the temp. I could not get comfortable at all. Blankets on, blankets off, fans on fans off. For some reason, the temp was messing with my neck. I have a steel plate in my neck, somehow the temp was making my neck hurt worse than when I woke up from the surgery after having it fixed.....it was bad, I couldn't eat, couldn't sleep, but wouldn't ever say I felt close to death! I have been on the floor puking and shitting my bowels out before....that sucks, but not Horrible! Maybe your experience with that has been worse than mine, I don't know! I have had the flu before, and it also sucks, but as mentioned I would say this was 1.5 times worse than the worse flu I have ever had.
If it was CV, then it sucks......but was still within tolerance, at least bearable FOR ME. I know I felt like going to ER on Saturday, but just couldn't get up to go. I'm sure if your healthy and fit......you'll be fine, maybe feel like I did, agian, I don't know! I wouldn't want to deal with it if I was 20 years older though. Again, a lot of shit going on for a bad flu! At the same time, we all have different experiences with everything. My sister-in-laws ONE Kidney Stone pain lasted 6 months, my last until they pull the stent out a week later. I can't judge how people will deal with it. BUT, people have had flu, and this is the flu, so calm down!

Kidney stones use to be a big part of my life. My urologist recommended I drink the juice from one or two lemons every day. Been kidney stone free ever since. Don’t know what your stones were made of, but I was able to dissolve mine by drinking lemon water first thing every morning. My dentist recommended rinse with fresh water after the lemon juice to protect the enamel on the meat tenderizers. YMMV
Not bad advice. The acids can be erosive to the enamel, but diluted with water aren't as destructive as sucking on a lemon wedge. (yep, have patients that do that regularly. Hello Southwest USA!) Another option you can use is a straw since it gets that acidic water down your suckhole and bypasses the dentition. Works for Red Bull, Monster energies, and Rip-its also. Check local state and municipality laws if straws are legal in your area. lOL
Here is some more evidence that the media is still trying to facilitate panic rather than mitigate it. For the last 3 days, the NYC metro newspapers and their online pages have been flooded with pictures of supposedly "empty" and "deserted" subway trains and stations at "rush hour". Trains that only had 2 or 3 people sitting far apart from each other in the entire car, supposedly at peak times. The NY Transit Authority was also reporting a "18.5% drop in riders"...

A friend who works at a large gun store in a big border town in CA (yeah, THAT place) was on the phone with me today. He usually does not work the counter anymore. He reports 2 /12 hour waits for ammo, and almost 3 hour waits for purchasing any sort of firearm, if it is in stock. And they STILL have to wait 14 days!He used the expression "Zombie Apocalypse" mentality. So far no idiotic fights or they would simply shut the barrier, but people rushing to the gun store is almost out of hand. They have a huge sale that was supposed to start tomorrow, but they are going to skip that since they are being mobbed at regular prices as it is. They may not have inventory by tomorrow anyway.
