I didn’t know there was so much hate in the world for monopods. I get the dog d**k argument but not the others.
It’s not hate.
I just learned they usually suck and a bag is so much more versatile in varying positions.
And cooler!
Monopods are great while detailing and waxing your rifle for a photo shoot on the kitchen table. Before mom gets home.

Just unwrapped my Xylo last night. Cant test run it for a while, but well worth the weight. Heavier than I personally wanted but it is a sturdy rig that I bet will work well for comps! Excellent fit and finish. Rear stock adjustments are quick and sturdy. Well done Ted and thank you!
Is there anything obvious that could be done to reduce weight without sacrificing rigidity?

Mine should be here Wednesday and I've got pretty much nothing going on for the next little bit so I'm planning on quite a bit of shooting with it the next couple weeks. I will obviously get some pictures as well.
I'll get pictures up tomorrow. I had to fit the magazine latch. MDT 223 mags have to have the rear support rib removed. The grip is basically roughed in so blocked the sharp corners.

There is a lot of adjustment everywhere, I'm probably at the minimum for much of it. I need to reset my scope because it is too far back now.
I didn't pre order, I ordered in the middle of January and paid full retail.
The Xylo doesn't look as cool as the KRG W3 but it is more rigid and much more natural feeling position. The adjustments are both secure and very easy to change. The Xylo uses all of the same fasteners whereas the W3 mixes SAE and metric and uses about ten different lengths and size bolts. The W3 actions screws are odd lengths while the Xylo's are both the same lengths and interchangeable. The Xylo might use four total different fasteners and includes the necessary T25 for any of the hard adjustments like butt pad and bag rider. You only need two different wrenches total for the entire chassis, the T25 driver and 3/16 Hex head for the action and lug clamp screws. My two biggest complaints of the W3 are all of the different fasteners and all of the different component parts.
I originally thought the Xylo level was dumb but it's kind of genius (if you like levels). When you're behind the rifle looking through the scope, if you glance down without moving your head there is the level. If you don't like levels just press it in and it's gone.
I have all MDT magazines (plastic 223, metal 308, and metal WSM). None of them initially fit. The latch was too long. The latch comes out pretty easy and I filed it down. The MDT plastic mags have a rib that interferes with the bump on the lever, I zipped it off with a Dremel and the mags work perfect. Overall the Xylo loads like most other chassis, there's nothing to get hung up on inside so mags just go in.
This chassis is far nicer than expected. The rear end is growing on me looks wise, but damn does it function well.

It felt amazing then, and I am a stock guy. The ARCA lock, adjustments, level, etc. all would have made the sale.

Not only does that chassis and the legs it's sitting on look awesome, but the brick work behind it is amazing.
My Xylo showed up today finally.....AWESOME!
I've shot with Eliseo Chassis, McMillans, Manners, and J Allen's for NRA Highpower comp.
My favorites are the J Allen and the Eliseo's. The J Allen just feels good and it's easy to hold steady to shoot, but it is not quickly adjustable...it was meant to set it and leave it. The Eliseo is very adjustable, and pretty quickly as well, but it doesn't feel the way I want it to.
They Xylo is a great compromise between all of these. Ted @karagias (and team) did a fantastic job. They should be very proud of the stock they've created. For my purposes it feels like a rifle stock (more like the J Allen than the Eliseo) but it is easier to adjust than the Eliseo. It took about 5 minutes for me to find all the stock positions for Standing, Sitting and Prone. Once I can get to the range I'll double check those and paint the stock for quick reference.
As an FYI, I'm only only running a 26" Rem Varmint taper barrel and even with the stock collapsed fully for standing the balance point is around the firing hand. This is not a complaint, and I'm sure that many folks are running larger profiled barrels and it will work out well for them. I know that some folks were talking about the weight, I honestly didn't pay much attention to it, but it seems to weight about the same as my JAE-700.
Critiques (specific to me, my needs and preferences):
- I really like the overmolded coating on the JAE-700, I prefer it to the feel of the aluminum on the XYLO. But as a highpower shooter I've got a hand on it a lot more than most folks shooting off a bipod or tripod - so it don't think it will matter to most people. Probably won't matter to me after a while.
- I wish the grip was a little larger for my big hands. They mentioned potentially making the grip interface open source so you could easily make your own grips. I will likely be looking forward to this. I do like fact that the grip is wooden.
- The magazine release, I'm a fan of the wide releases like on the J Allen and Hawkins bottom metal. I may try 3D printing an extension and see how it works.
Bottom line.....I really like it. I will probably sell or trade one of my JAE-700's to get another Xylo.

Got mine in today. Initial impression is pretty good. I have tried a few chassis before and the AR-15 grip ones were a "no" from the get-go. KRG has come closest to something I like but I always ended up back in a Manners. Will give this a fair shake. Function checks out so far with dummies and dry fire, and fit/finish are pretty damn solid. Maybe this weekend I'll get some range time in.
Got mine early this evening, came together fairly easily except the bolt would not fully close when the front action screw was cinched down. Put an extra washer and that seemed to solve it so hopefully no need to trim it.

The grip feels absolutely perfect size for me and my hands are slightly smaller than average. I could see guys with large hands thinking it is a touch small.

Might not look great, but they're the best groups I've ever had at 300 yards. This is with a 5-15 mph head wind and the chrono hanging off the loud end. Still doing load development. The two targets on the left were shot by my wife who has never touched a precision rifle before now. There are two 3 shot groups on the center target.

Today I was pulling my Bighorn TL3 out of the JAE-700 that I plan to sell (to fund another Xylo) and I thought I'd drop it in the Xylo to see how it fits.
The thick recoil lug on the TL3 (and the thicker recoil lug on the Origin) will not work in the Xylo with the lug clamp in place. I removed the lug clamp and installed the TL3 barreled action. I found that the front action screw was contacting the lower bolt lug. I did as someone else did above and added a washer under the front action screw (I used a washer from the lug clamp screws).
Now the TL3 fits and functions fine.....except that I didn't check magazine fit yet. I'll report back if I have any issues.

Thanks for the feedback. The screws can be shortened using either a belt sander or a file. We shipped the Xylo chassis with 1/4"-28 x 1" long socket head cap screws. These are available from McMaster Carr and shorter 7/8" screws are also available. https://www.mcmaster.com/91251a441
Alternatively, you can add a washer to accomplish the same thing.
As for the recoil lug clamp, the Xylo chassis shipped with a wedge designed for a 3/16" think lug which is the same thickness as that of the Rem 700. We'll make more wedges for thicker lugs really soon. It's easily done and we can make them quickly. In the meantime, it a simple matter for a gunsmith to remove an amount equal to the thickness of your lug less 0.188 inches for the face of the wedge designed to bear against the face of the lug/receiver.

I just created a STEP file containing the surfaces you must use for proper inletting. The external surfaces are for you to create. A link to the STEP file will be on the Xylo page of our website just as soon as Justin can get it done, probably later today.

@karagias I asked Justin about this on the phone the other day and I am so glad that you all followed up on this for us.
It's already the best chassis out there, now i can customize the one part on it that I want to change. What fantastic service!!!
I deal with OEM's all day and sometimes getting them to send you a STEP file to drop into a project layout is almost impossible. And I'm talking about equipment that is 10's or 100's of thousands of dollars.
