I live in the greater Seattle area and I’m telling you now, it’s pretty bad here.
most stores are sold out of essentials.
I know the manager of my local QFC pretty well and he told me last week that this week would probably be the last full restock of the store for many necessaries.
Most stores are out of proteins and won’t be getting them back in.
TP and tissue is obviously in low or no supply.
I’m curious how long it takes before the looting and home invasions kick in full gear?
If we go on full lock-down shelter in place mode, if the Ntnl Guard isn’t called up, I give it 9 days.

In addition to my G21 in my nightstand, I’ve brought out my 8” 300blk loaded with
DB 188gn subs that make a hole the size of a softball.
    there will be no warnings.

Anyway, if/when it all gets put on lockdown, what’s the consensus for when rioting/loot/breakins begin?

Would have been doing that today, but the thermometer dipped and the shop's too cold for anything extended.

I have a shop organizing/building project all set up for the first series of warm days.

All my shit is at the MIL's . I got a bow , a bat , a Black Belt in Kempo , fighting rank in Savate (PKA Kick Boxing ) , Belt in Jiu Jitsu and a dog . I have a month and a few weels until daughter is off of probation and my toys come home . That said this is the wrong houae to fuck with .

Also, it may sound crazy, but if you have some acreage around your house, make a range card, fields of fire, etc... Haven't done any of that shit in so long, only ever did it in MCT, wasn't nt even in my MOS. I was just a mechanic, I turned wrenches lol.

Business as usual for us at the homestead.

People are going to get the same level of wrecked now as they would have 6 months ago.

Only change is I put chains/locks on the exterior gates to the side and back yard to simply deny easy entry and I finally decided to forego my 'keep it light' policy on my SBR around the house and put a Surefire scout on it as I doubt I'll have my NV helmet on if something happens at 3am.

No doubt cities could get spicy pretty quick if the food stops flowing. 9 meals? IDK, for some that threshold is likely a lot lower. Gots to get mine.

And the NG is going to clamp down if that happens.

I have said and still believe that the governers arent going to fk around.

Without being my usual smart ass self for a moment, I honestly don’t think things will change until after the two week point. They fucked up by putting a date constraint on it because as soon as it hits, people are going to expect it to be like a light switch. This is the same reason the VA won’t give dates/times on claims.

So once the two weeks is up and nothing has changed other than the hospital loads, people will start to shift in their seats. For those that have lost income during the forced time off, bills will hit harder. CC bills for all those who panic shopped outside of their means will be a wake up call. When the govt says, hey sorry two more weeks, that’s going to really hurt people. When businesses can’t afford to take 100% losses for a month/month plus, they’re either going to cut staffing or close up entirely.

You have federal facilities (DeCA) asking for volunteers to stock their shelves rather than posting temp-hire positions so people who are out of work could try and ease their losses.

I have zero faith in people, as a whole, because they don’t act rationally. Let the bills stack up and continue to tell them that they can’t go back to work or that they lost their job due to downsizing. Especially over something they can’t see and are unlikely to experience firsthand. See how long they take to snap.

Range cards for your , street , neighborhood and egress streets out of neighborhood . Shit goin south is shit goin south . Know your AO .

Things are likely to get heated very quickly. I figure we are only a few short days from the first shopping rage deaths. 1-2 weeks until rioting and more organized robbery/looting. Larger cities with large populations of EBT slaves will be most vulnerable. They are the govt's destabilization army. Halt supply and get people hungry and the "I deserve what you have because I want it" crowd will be a very dangerous force to be reckoned with. Stay off of public transpo, especially subways, etc. where egress options are limited. Keep your head on a swivel, travel in pairs or more whenever possible and always be armed. Change your commute route and timing of habitual behaviors and stay out of chokepoints. Have a 72 hour bag in your vehicle if you commute or need to get around, you may at some point need to go foot mobile to get home.

Better late than never but talk with your closest neighbors and depending on how well you know and trust them, develop a plan to support each other, pool resources and rotate watch if it comes to that. Download and read "A Failure of Civility" for tried and proven methods for getting through this evolving shitshow. The FerFAL blog is also a good resource and will put some things into perspective.

Get heirloom seeds and start container gardens in and around your home, if this doesn't get corrected in the next 1-2 months you will be needing the nutrients and moral lift from fresh veggies.

Expect internet access and utilities to become tightly controlled/rationed as bedlam begins to spread from cities and radiating outward through suburbs and into more rural areas. The govt may not want to solve this quickly if there is gain to be had from the chaos but they will want to control the flow of information and dictate the narrative.

I pray I am wrong but this is a pattern born out numerous times the world over. America is not invulnerable, the Constitution has been the vaccine for anarchy but we know what our govt thinks about that document and those of us who hold it dear.

Was actually planning on cleaning, lubing, loading, and ammo inventory this weekend. Never know when things are going to pop off in your AO.

Everything is safe and normal... Until it suddenly is not anymore. And it can happen to anyone, anywhere, no matter what location or personality or socioeconomic status. It does not have to take a pandemic to cause full SHTF to erupt. It can be a single escaped maximum security inmate who just happened to spot your house in the dead of night first... Murderous, hungry, and horny...

ANYBODY who says that they "live in a safe neighborhood and does not need guns" are fucking idiots, and when shit really goes down and they are not prepared at all, I do not have any shred of sympathy for them.

This reminds me of just what happened to me 2 days ago. I don't really keep in touch with neighbors, I'll wave and say hi when I'm out doing the yard or whatever but thats about it. I've lived in this house for almost 6 years and couldn't tell you the names of anyone 2 houses away.

One guy who was Army and deployed to Iraq across the way and I had talked a few times when I first moved in. He asked me a few things as they always saw the equipment I was taking in/out of the garage and I gave him a broad overview of what I've done. Since then they always wanted to 'go shooting' but when it comes down to it, no one ever goes through with it. Have been cordial but thats all. Everyone around here knows everyone if they're with the church so I'm sure over the years they kind of got filled in as to whats up with me a bit.

Two days ago I get a text asking how we are doing and if we needed anything. Mind you, I haven't talked to him face to face in like a year. When I told my wife about this she was under the impression since people were unsure as to the future, even though we live in the nice area, they were slowly trying to be pals incase someone had to do some work.

They will wait til they get their Trump Corona bailout check cashed then it's on like.. well.

I read the post above about the chicken sandwiches and was reminded of reality.

You're right, any little thing could set one of those cities a light.

My grocery connection came to the house and said most of the trucks didn't come.

They dont have anything in the store.

I'm out of beans and my favorite fajita spice mix.
I went to a local food service supply warehouse and they said the trucks are unpredictable and they have no idea what will be on them until they arrive. most of the staples are gone. Times are a changing.

Burglaries have already started in Vegas. A friend hjad 2 guys kick door in at gun point & took all their food but no money!!

Well, you'll be making the liberals happy as greenhouse emissions are now drastically reduced.

I'm fortunate in that before my critter passed on to doggie heaven I got to know a lot of the neighbors. That's both a good and a bad thing. My best neighbor from the standpoint being "neighborly" is a bleeding heart and I've had a few arguments with him so count them out for "assistance" because people looting are in need - duhh. However, nobody in my AO save for one guy down the street has a clue.

As far as going shooting....good grief this is what I hear.."I wish we had a good range." Well, come with me then...but it's 35 bucks for all day OUTDOORS. Reply..."that's too much money...I'll just go to the indoor range for 20." But the outdoor has 380, 100, 50, bays, etc......"yeah, but I don't shoot that way." Always a frickin' excuse. So...I just go do my own thing, but in times like these you need folks you can count on or are at least know what the pointy end does.

I'm actually going to bet that there won't be major nationwide disturbances.

Talks about stimulus checks are the main thing in town right now... Just like how the possibility of a pizza party keeps even the most aggressive class of 4th graders surprisingly calm and well behaved...

Fort Worth mostly out of groceries since sunday.

I can feel the eyeballs peeking around allready.

Thats where people who live in non safe neighborhoods will be getting supplies like food, valuables, sex and etc. People who don't understand how dangerous life can be are the ones willing to give up their belongings.

I'm with you to a degree. So long as the trucks keep coming in even if its at the same stock as currently and people don't blow through all their savings and or the couple grand we get back in the pay back stimulus tax dollars things probably won't get froggy.

    However:

If things don't return to normal but get worse then its all bets are off.

If the bodies don't start piling up, the hospitals are not overrun and the quarantine doesn't get lifted or becomes more draconian people will start to put two and two together and get pissed.

If people don't use their tax returns and the extra tax return called the stimulus properly but are fools, well then again all bets are off.

Never underestimate the power of stupid people.
