I had actually thought back in the summer their ticket would be Warren/Abrams, that the Dems would cover all their bases. But i guess the DNC knew Warren couldnt beat Bernie head to head, so they had to toss Biden in to defeat them both.

I think Biden puts Abrams in there as a last ditch hail mary to try and save his campaign. Abrams will fire up the African American vote that Biden is losing quickly.

and no one screams about election fraud and vote suppression like Abrams. and thats the strategy the DNC wants to go with, especially with the Rona and the controversy over mail in ballots and harvesting.

wait for Trump to open the economy back up, hammer the WHO and China with lack of funding/sanctions/etc, have a surging stock market, and Biden will announce it to try and steal some of his thunder.

The Dems know that they are going to lose this election. They have been planning their loss because that is important to their power going forward. It's simple really, they are just managing how they lose.
If they run a radical candidate, they lose the elderly and most middle class voters and that's the base they need to keep. They would lose them for years and they can't afford that.
If they run an establishment puppet (Biden was the only one), they lose the election but retain their core base. They run the risk of losing the communist voters short -term but their numbers are small and they will come back.
They are losing no matter who runs and they know it so their strategy is all about planning for the future.
