Rifle Scopes Protective lense covers vortex AMG

I don't know what they would be called or if it would make any sense but does anybody make protective covers for a vortex amg, similar to a camera lense protector that screws on?

Why screw in versus flip up caps?

I assume because the scope can be closer to the rifle without having to allow for a cap to go over the optic

I'd still like to run flip caps would just like an internal lense protector. The more I think about it... it will probably end up distorting the clarity. I would like some protection from the weather when out in the field. Basically just like a uv filter like what was described above

I run the sunshade on the front of all my scopes as it give protection not just from the sun but also rain and mud and anything else that could easily get on the lens when shooting. Between that and the flip ups it protects them pretty well.

I agree with Rob - use the sunshade. My other hobby is photography; a few years ago I learned the value of keeping a sunshade on a mounted lens when I dropped my full-frame DSLR (e.g., heavy) right on the edge of the lens. Or, rather, the sunshade, which was trashed but absorbed the impact and protected the camera and lens. The much-deeper sunshade on a riflescope isn't going to keep fine dust off the objective, but it's good protection against pretty much everything else...

+1 for using the shade. It's not too long, works well in rain and snow. As as an FYI, if you unscrew it and the ring behind it comes off with it, don't panic and call vortex thinking you purged the gas because it's just a dummy ring for aesthetics... LoL.
Also, the Nightforce 3-15x50 rubber bikini lens cover fits really well on the AMG.
