I think it would be really interesting if you did a full podcasts on working dogs. More of how you got into it, what a day in the life of a dog trainer is like, what these dogs are used for, a conversation in regards to home defense dogs - do's and don't s of that, common mistakes, a conversation on different breeds for home defense, etc. This is a topic that seems to pop up from time to time in the bear pit here on the hide, lots of differing opinions and they always turn into long threads.

Also, just checked pocket cast and couldn't find your podcast on their app? I'm not sure if I'm just retarded or if it isn't "live" yet. Had to suffer through Podbean for these two episodes.

See if this works. I really dont like the interface as the content provider of that app but i know that tons of people use it. I tried to find it myself by the search function and couldnt find it. Had to be signed in to my account to find it. Try this link.

I plan on doing a few dedicated working dog episodes and when i nail down a bullet proof way to do interviews and have them recorded in MP3, i got some folks to talk working dogs with.

thanks dude. that really makes me happy to hear. Working dogs have been an important part of my life for quite some time, but my passion for it has lessened some from not really being able to decoy bc of my back. I still like working with new learning decoy's when given the chance. I'm glad you liked the episode.

Just finished ep. 12. Lots of good info on this one with all of the gear you discuss. I like Jack Master's list idea for your next cast. I am really enjoying this, brother. Yours and Frank's are my go-to/must-listen podcasts.

Also, the working dog cast was a real eye-opener, as most people (myself included) know WAY less about dogs than we think we do, especially when it comes to selecting the right dog for your lifestyle. That was a masterclass and I know you have even more to say on that topic. Keep up the great work, David!

I feel like I must be undiagnosed ADHD or at least ADD, because I'm the exact same way. And you're funny as fuck, I love it. Your talking style definitely resonates with me.

The funniest part of your podcasts, to date, was the beginning of episode 11, talking about parenting your boy. Had to forward that one on to my family, comedy gold but spot on!

Just listened to your "so you want a working dog" episode. I wish I would have heard that 10 years ago when I bought my first working line GSD. It was definitely one of those "be careful what you wish for, you might just get it" situations.

I can personally attest to this man’s knowledge of K9s. Last week we had a lengthy convo in regards to my GSD. BLKWLFK9 offered several pointers & so far sage advice borders more on prophecy; the dog learns quickly & his behavior models that which was foretold. My GSD is very protective of the family & after just a week of working w/ him we’ve seen marked progress.

Fucking outstanding!

The primary appeal of your podcast for me, is that you create an atmosphere where it has the feel of just hanging out with you in person, talking about everyday stuff. Kind of like I came to your house and we just started talking. It's not a "show" or a point-by-point exposition on a topic. It's a natural conversation, so that makes it easy listening. Much appreciated and keep up your natural style.

Its easy to vibe well when its one of your buddies. Me and Sam talk or at least text about every day anyway so, it would naturally seem as though 2 friends are talking. With that said, my goal from the start has always been to make this podcast seem as though the listener is in my reloading room or truck with me. Maybe its from a lack of "radio/media" experience but seems to work out as an end result. I dont really have talking points i want to hit in an episode. If anything, i may just have reminders so i dont get too ADHD and completely miss something i wanted to talk about. Just last nights episode with Sam, i had 0 notes or anything in front of me. Just beer. We were both enjoying some quality brews during our chat last night. Everything mentioned or talked about was completely organic. The next time Sam comes on, we will get into the weeds of some pretty cool topics.

Did you see that I got it on pocket cast? I remember you saying you hate podbean. Pocketcast was easy to set up for my show. iTunes was a little more confusing for content providers. I'll look into it a little more.

I feel the same way about soundcloud. ive got a few podcasts that I really enjoy listening to on soundcloud and I hate the format. I actually really enjoy podbean. What do you hate about it?


edit: Im working on it, but the iTunes page where you submit a podast is currently down and not operating. Will try again later or tomorrow.

I had a chat w/ my wife while walking our GSD last week. She & I discussed the things you said to do, not to do, etc & he learns quickly. My wife & daughter walked him today & they encountered a few people while walking. My wife had let my ten year old walk him (I almost shit when I heard that) & a little tug on the leash kept him in line; he didn’t even bother looking at the strangers!

The other thing to look for is this symbol. Color may be different. That's where you find the feed. This is the rss symbol. It's used for more than just podcasts but I don't know all that tech stuff.

Don't feel bad. There's lots of stuff that you guys know that the rest of us don't. I'm only 33. Just been listening to crap tons of podcasts in Pocketcasts since Aug 2015. Yes that is my progress on ep14. It's great.

So, as far as iTunes goes, they are telling me that my artwork for the podcast is the wrong pixel size. I adjusted it to the size it said, but iTunes still wont validate my RRS feed due to the artwork. Shit is irritating. If anybody wants it on iTunes, I could use some help.

Alright. Got that shit figured out and it has been validated, submitted and is waiting approval from iTunes. Once it gets approved, there will probably still be a waiting period before it is searchable. So now the podcast will be available on podbean, pocketcast, and iTunes. LoL, did this shit just for you @M8541Reaper so you better fucking listen on iTunes and share the shit out of it with your people!!


edit: Well iTunes kicked it back from submittle saying there is something wrong with my RSS feed, but it works and also worked when submitting it to pocket cast. They dont fucking tell you what they say is wrong with it, just tell you to fix it. WTF??!! IDK if iTunes is going to happen or not. Im bout to tell them to suck a fat baby's dick.

Eh I just decided to get a Nokia 3310 because I broke my iPhone while rucking in a storm last night. Perhaps iTunes isn’t a good way to go. Could you create a new Podcasting App for those of us with Nokia’s? If it can run a Snake game and boast a 6-year battery life, I’m sure it wouldn’t be difficult. 😁
