New to the forum here.
I have been looking around the internet and I cannot find a clear answer on my question.
Do you have to purchase a can when you go to purchase and submit paper work for your stamp? The reason I ask is because, I am very indecisive when it comes to stuff I buy. One day I want this, the next day I want that. I don't want to pay for something now and then many months later when the stamp comes in, I see something else that I want or maybe a newer version of a can comes out in that time frame. Thank You.

Do your research now.
Buy from a reputable manufacturer.
note that your paperwork/stamp is for that supressor and that one only. You don’t get to change your mind and get something else unless you like dropping another $200 for the new one.

When you write your $200 check for the stamp/paperwork and forget about it until they call that it’s approved.

The paperwork can only be submitted when you purchase a silencer. The stamp is only for that specific silencer.

And yes, by the time you get it in hand, there will be something newer, cooler, maybe better, etc. It's just the nature of the beast.

With as long as it takes to get approval you’re pretty much guaranteed to see something newer/better/whatever by the your stamp comes. There’s a very good chance you’ll want to buy more once you get used to shooting suppressed. I pretty much plan on getting 1 a year, and I still manage to use ones like my Cyclone that I got in 2010, and my 30P1 that I bought about a month before the Ultra was announced. They’re not showers, they still work great.

One a year is my plan too. Although this year I've bought 3 and form 1'd another. lol.

I’m usually pretty good at sticking to my plan, but it’s hard sometimes. I have a Sig 338SRD in jail (8 months down!), I’m planning to jump on another 338 suppressor as soon as Dead Air comes out with one, and I’m really fighting the urge to buy a Nomad L and Rugged Surge now.

I've picked up an AAC 556-SD, Nomad-30, and a Mask. Currently eyeballing a Sandman K. lol. I'm sick man.
