Figure I'll go Naval Aviator USMC style to Pilot the Honda Pilot.

    Up at 2:45.

So much for getting an early start.

I miss the days when I'd roll the packed bike out of the garage.

Pull the choke, two pumps on the throttle, push in the decompressors, ignition on, listen for the ""whir" of the electronic system coming to life, speedo needle would Bounce, dash panel glows with electricity.

Hit the ignition, listen to "fit, fit, fit, fit" as air would psh through the decompressor buttons than after three or four turns the rattle of the loose push rods and the clunky pistons catching life as the decompressors snap closed.

Once the oil filled the hydraulic push rod bottoms things would start to smooth out. Take off the choke and lock the throttle to keep a steady idle. Listen as the engine warms up and gains speed , idle down accordingly.

Once down from about 120 psi oil to 20 or so loosen the throttle and let the beast just lope at idle knowing the neighbors are thinking " Why doesn't he just go already?"

Kickstand up, lean back on all the shit packed on the back seat and clunk it into first to leave the driveway.

Roll down my big ass hill in first with back pressure booming through the Thunderheader just to let the neighbor that was wondering know I was leaving.

    Sorry buddy not this trip....

    So sad.......

    Made it to VA Beach.

Going across Chesapeake Bay Bridge was cool. Big container ship was crossing the tunnel just as we were descending. Looke dlike we were going to crash into it.

Staying in the Marriot across from The Cavalier.

Couple of Seahawks flew down the beach and we were in the landing path for Norfolk.....getting my chance to see fighters. Loud MFers.

12th floor so the Hornets look close enough to touch.

Tommorow we will be riding Hummers on the beach in NC looking at Wild Horses.

I hate seeing threads like this. I had to give up my scoot a couple of years ago, due to leg and foot surgeries. Got many, many, miles on two-wheels and have seen all but two states, on two-wheels. Also seen a couple on countries by m/c. Sucks getting old and now it's getting to the point, there's too much shit going on. I'm glad your still getting out and road trippin. Have fun and be safe! Mac(y)(y)

NC? You're one State away from Free America.

Va tonight. We hit NC today, went out to Outer Banks to see some wild Spanish Horses.

Both VA and NC are veritable "Bastions or Freedom" compared to MA.

Peeps aint happy about this mask shit. All the servers are wearing them.

I feel for their discomfort - has to suck.

As a patron its disturbing. I watched about 8-9 kids working as servers standing behind the bar for their orders to be poured....each was fucking with their mask, touching contaminated masks multiple times to deal with the discomfort. Without the mask they wouldnt be fucking with their faces. Our server was sweating his ass off, sweated through his paper mask, was particularly gross.

    Started the day with coffee....

Fams doesnt know how to enjoy the best part of the day. They are still in bed.

    Cloudy in VA....

    Ships passing the gray sunrise...

    No sharks teeth....

    Clouds burned off by 1000....

    P6219405[1].JPG

Saw a Sub coming in to Norfolk. First Id ever seen one underway. Pretty cool, too far out to get a picture of anything that would have been recognizable......just the sail and a rear control fin. Once it got within a mile of the Chesepeake crossing it caused a stir.....4-5 escorts came out and a police boat ripped down the beach to meet it - no fucking around security wise with that beast.

Amazing what the Hotel library has to read out in the sand.....got the pages smeared with sunscreen reading about ARS indoc....

Guess it’s worth mentioning. If/when you pass through Wilmington, stop and see the Battleship North Carolina. It is a good tour and interesting piece of history.

Had hoped to get a private air show today.

Past few days every half hour or so fighters were coming in in either groups of two or singles.

Cool as crap as they flew right beside our hotel.

I was hoping for some good shots today while we sat on the beach but apparently the US Navy takes weekends off....no planes today.

My daughter caught this video the other day....

Ill only get one Dad event during these trips.

Had to drive past a super cool looking old school surplus store in Moyock NC yesterday that I so wanted to stop for.

Im saving my Dad event for Parris Island or maybe the USMC Museum.

    Cool trip

I was gone all week with my teen daughter to visit my parents in SoFLA.

That new Accord is one highway cruise missile. A steady 80 mph through the WV twisties on I-77 as if on rails.

Triple digits one quick push of the throttle away in 5th gear.

Lived in the OBX for 6 years in Southern Shores, we used always take friends and family up to see the horses and feed them apples. (y)

Those horses look in better shape than what I see most domesticated horses in.

There coats were shiny like silk.

Tour guide says they get almost no sugar in their diet and people feeding them anything is frowned upon.

Sea oats, grass, and both fresh or salt water seems to be all they need.

I noted the CW monument to the Confederated dead, in this park that overlooks Fort Sumter, was stained with red paint and the letters BLM were just readable.

Looks like while I have been on vacation you guys are blowing up the Bear Pit with SJWs latest vile offense and Jussie Smollet has joined NASCAR.

Kind of nice being "out of touch" with the shit our world is defecating.

The new place in Hilton Head is sweet. Kind of a condo.

    P6249418[1].JPG

Finally a room with no kids in it.

    P6249419[1].JPG

Courtyard look sweet even at night in a tropical thunderstorm......fuck is SC sweaty balls......

If I knew you were going to charleston I would have gotten some restaurant recommendations for you. My parents spend a good bit of time down there.

If you make it a little further South, the islands off the GA coast are nice. Total opposite of myrtle beach.

We ate at "The Fleet" or some such restaurant right on the water.

Pretty cool. View of Moultrie and Sumter. The Yorktown was hidden by a wharf building but would have been directly across from us.

It was just a short stop so the Cobb salad I had was plenty fine. We got to see some dolphins in the harbor.

Anyone going to Myrtle Beach I recommend visiting Barefoot Landing if you have kids. The Blueberry House breakfast place had the best coffee of the trip so far. There is an Italian restaurant and a ribs and meat bar to choose from for restaurants. Its on the inland waterway so there is a central pond surrounded by small shop to walk around. Turtles to see and perhaps an alligator if you are lucky, certainly some fat ass carp. Everything else on Myrtle seems to follow the strip mall life. Barefoot Landing was closest we found to something like the VA Beach Boardwalk experience.

Going to get bikes in Hilton Head today and do some riding.

@pmclaine that has the makings of an epic road trip.

One of these days you should make Kiawah Island, just south of Charleston, your destination. Include a trip to Patriot's Point. I wanted to do an overnight stay on USS Yorktown, but the wimmiz were too spooked when the guide said we might hear and see some of the souls that never left her.

Your mention of LGEN (then COL) Puller reminded me of one his COs from the 1st Marine Division in WW2, LGEN Pedro Del Valle. A fellow Puerto Rican patriot, he was eerily prescient in the 50s about today's threat to our Republic. He was thought of as an anti-semitic kook then, but his fears have become reality.

It may be time to stand up the Defenders of the American Constitution once more.

Pedro del Valle is thought to have sunk a Jap destroyer by putting a mortar round down the stack......

Bought em at a little stand just prior to the road that turns off Rt 17, SC toward Parris Island.

    They are tasty.

    Last stop was Winchester VA.

Last time I was there it promoted its CW history. Now it seems to be a SJW populated area.

    Back to work today :(
